Hong Kong veteran actor Ng Man Tat has recently passed away.
The news was confirmed by his good friend and actor-producer Tin Kai Man, who said that Ng breathed his last at 5.16pm in Union Hospital on 27 February. Ng’s wife, children and siblings were by his side when he passed away peacefully in his sleep.
It was only recently revealed that the late actor had been battling liver cancer.
Earlier last week, Tin had explained that Ng had gone to mainland China to do a photoshoot for the poster of his new movie. It was there when he felt uncomfortable and so was transferred to Macau for further medical examination. There he found that he had a tumour. Two months ago, he returned to Hong Kong for surgery and chemotherapy, though the actual outcome of the treatment was not revealed to his fans then.
Ng had been beset with health problems since 2014, when he was rushed to the hospital due to breathing problems, and was later diagnosed with heart failure. His health had been declining since then.
The late actor was 70 years old.
