After the first season received a phenomenal reception from viewers, popular video streaming platform Viu and HBO Asia now return with an even larger “The Bridge”.
While the first season featured cast members from two neighbouring countries, Malaysia and Singapore, the latest season stars popular actors from four countries: Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines.
“With this second season, we’re very excited to be able to feature the best of Asia’s talents to our viewers in all 16 markets. The storyline this time is more complex, apart from being more action-packed.
“Furthermore, this second season will feature a few new faces and viewers will get to familiarise themselves with their characters. In fact, “The Bridge” season two will definitely make viewers more emotional,” said Ms. Sahana Kamath, Head of Original Production for Viu Indonesia and Malaysia.
One of the main cast in “The Bridge 2”, Bront Palarae, will be reprising his role as Megat Jamil.
However, according to Bront, in this new season viewers will see a different side of Megat that will shock them.
“In this new season, my character Megat is no longer working as a policeman, but what I can say is it is related to the new case that’s being investigated by ICD officer Serena Teo (Rebecca Lim).”
Aside from Bront and Rebecca, the TJ Lee, Jason Chong and Zahir Omar-directed series also star other great actors such as Chew Kin Wah, Wan Hanafi Su, Fikry Ibrahim, Ario Bayu, Lukman Sardi, Amanda Manopo, Miller Khan, Joseph Marco, Adrian Pang and many more.
The second season of “The Bridge”, released yesterday 15 June, is available for viewing on Viu, HBO GO and the HBO channel across Asia.
