This is the first time that the singer is holding a solo concert in her home country, ever since making her debut in the music industry in 2009.
Ahead of the concert, the singer took a little break from her Chinese New Year celebrations to meet with the media yesterday in Kuala Lumpur.
Channeling a glam diva in her all-black floor-length dress, the singer was, however, very bright and ecstatic as she talked about her upcoming concert. She even has a specific singer in mind when asked who she would like to come to the concert, saying with a smile, “My idol, Jacky Cheung.”
It’s no secret that the singer looks up to the Cantopop legend, having previously admitted to wanting to do a song together and even made a cover of one of Jacky’s songs.
During the press conference with Malaysian media, Gin Lee named a couple of Hong Kong stars that she would love to have at the concert.
As for special guests for her concert, she replied that since she likes Sandy Lam very much, she would love to have a chance to collaborate with the Hong Kong songstress.
“I feel very excited and nervous at the same time,” the singer said of her upcoming concert. “I’m really happy that I’m able to come back to hold a concert for my Malaysian fans as I’ve waited quite a long time for this day to come! I believe my fans have the same feeling.”
Regarding the concert name, “First of All”, she said that after thinking hard, she decided to go with the name as she believes that everyone’s first time is often memorable. It also gives a sense of expectation, a build up for a second or third and so on.
While her Malaysian concert will largely be the same as the one held in Hong Kong, there will be slight differences in terms of costume, stage and songs. She will also be singing songs that will only be performed exclusively at the Malaysian concert.
