Seven months after welcoming her son to the world, He Sui took to social media to share her thoughts about motherhood.

In a Weibo post shared on 10 May, the model revealed that growing up, her mum has always loved her more than she loved herself.

“My mum often shares with me about the funny story of knitting my very first pink sweater when I was little. Later, when Xiao Win was still in my belly, she picked up her knitting needles again long before he was born. After so many years, her skills had become rusty, so she would knit, undo it, and knit again, spending whole days bent over her work.”

“I kept worrying that her neck and eyes couldn’t take it, and I told her babies grow so fast that even a carefully knitted sweater wouldn’t fit for long. But deep down inside, I understood this was a special kind of love passed down from grandmother to mother to child, a love meant only for me and my baby.”

He Sui said that it was not until her baby, whom she nicknamed Xiao Win, came into her life that she truly understood the unconditional nature of a mother’s love.

“From that tiny little bundle at the beginning to the lively baby now snuggling in my arms, the busy, normal days flew by in the blink of an eye. Before I knew it, more than 200 days had passed. I cherish this time so much, time where he still can’t argue back or quarrel with me yet. Looking at this tiny little person in my arms, I often remind myself that he doesn’t need to grow into my expectations. As long as he can live freely and independently, safe and happy, that is enough,” she wrote.

He Sui said that every single day since she became a mother has made her love her own mother even more.

It’s only been a few days since it was announced that William Chan is set to star in the new mainland drama, “Love Kills Slowly,” and now a controversy has sparked regarding its billing.

Fans of the mainland-based actor recently expressed dissatisfaction towards the production team, after William’s name is listed second instead of first in the billing, supposedly under the pretext that villains cannot be listed first. The first instead went to co-star Zhong Chuxi.

However, they claimed that other dramas airing at the same time have precedents of first-billed villainous roles, leading them to question whether the production team is “using policy as a pretext to deceive actors” and tampering with billing order.

According to the fans, the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television’s new regulations in 2026 require billing order to be based on the number of strokes in the actor’s real surname, but “Chen” has fewer strokes than “Zhong,” meaning William should be listed first.

The team has yet to address the allegations.

The upcoming drama is adapted from Yi Shu’s novel of the same name, and tells the story of Zhu Lizi, a self-media investigative reporter with a wealthy family and a happy life. In a chance encounter, she meets Wang Zhicheng, a cardiac surgeon, and the two fall in love. However, unbeknownst to Zhu, there is something lurking in the shadows.

This marks the first collaboration between William Chan and Zhong Chuxi in seven years since the film “Adoring.”

It has been a while since William Chan starred in a period romance series, and that seemed to be related to his last series of the genre, “Novoland: Pearl Eclipse”.

In a recent interview, the mainland-based actor spoke about the lack of costume dramas that he has starred in since the 2021 series, and said that his costume styling in the said drama was heavily criticised by netizens, with the majority mocking his hairstyling.

Describing himself as a Scorpio who holds grudges “even at 40”, William light-heartedly said that the mockery has led him to stop taking on costume dramas altogether.

He also admitted that he doesn’t look particularly good in costumes and so decided to shift focus to modern dramas instead.

It is noted that many netizens made fun of his hairstyling in “Novoland: Pearl Eclipse,” particularly the strands of hair that framed his face. Some said that he resembled the Tortoise from the “Chinese Paladin 3” video game, while others said it reminded them of the Guangdong cockroach.

William also emphasised that he especially liked the crying scene in the finale of the drama, believing it to be the highlight of his performance. However, the controversy surrounding his styling diverted the audience’s attention, ultimately causing him to develop a psychological barrier that made it difficult for him to handle period dramas.

William Chan has dismissed the notion that the birth of his baby with He Sui was unplanned, saying that there was no accident when it comes to his relationship with the model.

In a recent interview with VOGUE MAN, the mainland-based actor revealed that having a baby was part of the plan after being together for many years.

“We’ve been together for many years, but we never publicly discussed our relationship. Our child’s arrival was completely planned. It may seem sudden to everyone else, but for us, everything unfolded exactly as we hoped and envisioned,” he said.

As to the reason they went public with the birth, William said that it was so that their child will one day realise that the birth was a blessing.

“We work in a very unique industry. We didn’t want to hide our child from the world. When he grows up, I want him to know that his birth was a blessing to both his parents, and that his arrival gave us the courage to face the world,” he said.

At the same time, William said that he and He Sui prefer to maintain privacy when it comes to their own relationship, adding that being private was a way of them to protect each other.

Model-actress Wang Shiqing has recently dismissed reports saying that fellow model He Sui was previously married to her ex-husband, Ji Huanbo.

The whole story sparked following news that He Sui has welcomed her first child with actor William Chan. As many took to social media to express surprise by the news, others claimed that the supermodel had been married before, or in their words, “deceived into marriage by a fake rich man”.

They claimed that He Sui ended the marriage soon after they tied the knot and that the man in question was Wang Shiqing’s ex-husband Ji Huanbo, who appeared with her on the third season of the reality show, “See You Again”.

In response to this, Wang Shiqing took to Weibo and posted, “Fake news. Wise people, stop believing lies.”

It was on 18 October that William and He Sui announced the news of their baby’s birth, with a series of photos and a caption that read, “Daddy, mummy, him.”

The two had been romantically linked as early as 2021, but was reported to have ended things in March 2023. However, many speculated that they have reconciled in December the same year, but He Sui stopped updating her social media since August.

It was reported that Vietnam has suspended all online film distribution activities by China’s Tencent Holdings Limited and Image Future Investment (HK) Limited in connection with the drama series, “Love’s Ambition”.

The whole issue sparked after a map showing the nine-dash line was featured in one of the episodes of the Zhao Lusi-starrer.

Prior to the backlash, the drama, which also stars William Chan in the lead, has been doing very well in Vietnam and other countries, becoming the fastest-growing series to become a success since its release late last month.

However, due to a minor view of the “Nine-Dash Line” map in episode 16, Vietnamese officials deemed the show a violation of Article 9 of the country’s 2022 Cinema Law.

Mr. Dang Tran Cuong, Director of the Cinema Department, said that the department has been working actively with relevant parties regarding the issue.

This is not the first time Chinese productions have been pulled from Vietnamese platforms for the nine-dash line controversy. Previous dramas include “Flight to You” and “Go Ahead”.

William Chan has dismissed the notion of awkwardness between him and Charlene Choi, after the two appeared at the showcase held by Emperor Motion Pictures at the Hong Kong International Film and Television Market (FILMART).

As reported on Sohu, the actor, who attended the event to promote his new movie with Dante Lam, “Bursting Point”, could be seen standing behind Charlene at first, the latter who was there to promote her new movie “The Goldfinger” with Andy Lau and Tony Leung.

However, the positions were later rearranged, with William standing in the same line with the actress, though separated by two other actors. The two had no interaction with each other throughout the event.

When asked about being on the same stage with his ex-girlfriend, William said that they had no chance to have a chat but that there is no awkwardness between them.

As to whether they would be okay working together in the future, the China-based actor expressed, “That would depend on the company’s wishes. But I guess they wouldn’t make such an arrangement.”

However, when asked about the rumour that he and model He Sui have broken up, William simply responded, “No comment.”

Charlene and William dated for four years in the early 2010s before they announced their breakup in 2015. The Twins member is now in a relationship with Mahjong Prince, Anthony Shek.

Although he is one of the few stars who has no issue showing affections to their mothers on social media nowadays, William Chan recently admitted that there was a time that he felt ashamed for only having a mother.

The China-based singer-actor, who appeared in a variety show recently, shared that he has one permanent regret that he has kept deep inside, and that is the time he ran away from his mother due to some childish issue.

“I only went to this one middle school for two years. On the day of my [middle school] graduation, my mother came to pick me up. I don’t know why, but I felt embarrassed because everybody else have parents and my mother was alone,” he said.

“I didn’t want people to see me at the time. When I left, my mother kept chasing me. She was crying at the time, angrily asking me, ‘Why are you running away from me? Why are you running away from me?'”

William said that he has kept that particular memory in his heart for so long, and didn’t dare tell his mother how much his behaviour at the time and the way that he had hurt her still affects him.

“But when this show is aired, I will show it to my mother. I am sorry, mum,” he added.

It is noted that William and his two siblings were raised single-handedly by his widowed mother, following his father’s passing when he was young. William said that he is always grateful to his mother for taking care of them.

After years of focusing on his mainland career, William Chan recently revealed that he will be returning to Hong Kong soon.

As reported on HK01, the singer-actor shared the news during a live broadcast of a brand launch, saying, “I will be travelling back to Hong Kong in the next few days to do a Hong Kong movie.”

“I haven’t made a Hong Kong film for eight to nine years, so I will be completing one this time,” he added.

William stated that the project was something he had wanted to do for the past eight years – a collaboration with some respected seniors that he dreamed of working with throughout his career.

“I feel like I want to challenge myself when I go back, so this is a challenge for me,” he said.

Asked when he will return to Hong Kong, the actor said that it will be in the near future.

It is noted that William’s last Hong Kong movie was the 2014’s “Golden Brother”, co-starring Bosco Wong and Michael Tse.

Rumours are rife that William Chan has found love anew in Chinese supermodel He Sui.

As reported on HK01, rumours of romance between the two sparked after William and He were photographed entering and leaving the same apartment in the same car many times, with tabloids speculating that the two are now living together.

It is said that William met the supermodel at an event in 2019, and the two became a couple since then.

Prior to the recent sighting, paparazzi have photographed a woman at William’s house in March 2020, though many speculated the mystery woman to be model Liu Wen.

Liu had since dismissed the rumours.

William’s most known romance was with Hong Kong actress and Twins member Charlene Choi. The couple ended their relationship in 2015 after five years of romance.

He was later revealed to be dating Brazilian model Bruna, though the relationship didn’t last long.
