Vivian Chow surprised many recently when she revealed her intention to make her current concert tour her last world tour.

The 56-year-old singer, who kicked off her “A Long and Lasting Love World Tour” in Macau on 1 September, tearfully told audiences at the end of the concert of her plan.

“This tour, I told myself that I would perform with the purest heart and sing for the people who love me. At different stages of life, my pursuits and needs are different. There has been a big change. Every performance of this tour is really a countdown to what should be my last large-scale solo concert,” she said.

As fans began to shout “No! No!”, Vivian continued, saying that she has to focus on taking care of her health, her family and her cats as she gets older.

“I want to spend more time with them, and I also hope to spend more time with my husband,” she added.

However, Vivian assured that the tour being her last one does not mean that she is retiring from showbiz, but that she just wants more time for herself.

“Time flies so fast. If you miss it, you will miss it,” she added.

After the Macau stop, Vivian will continue her tour to Guangzhou and other stops in mid-September.

Vivian Chow recently sparked nostalgia among fans when she shared photos of her reunion with former silver screen siren, Sharla Cheung.

On 2 July, the Hong Kong singer posted several photos of them together following her recent performance at the Ouhai Olympic Sports Center Stadium in Wenzhou, with both of them looking like not a day over 40 in the photos.

She wrote, “Unexpected performance in Wenzhou made us reunited. I thought you were just saying [you’d come], so I was surprised how far you came to see me. When I saw you while on stage, I can’t wait to step down and hug you.”

“Haven’t seen you for more than thirty years, it turns out that no matter how the world changes, as long as I’m beside you, I’m full of love,” she added.

It is noted that Sharla and Vivian collaborated in the 1989 film, “The Romancing Star III”. Sharla retired from showbiz in the 2000s and was revealed to have lived ordinarily in Thailand.

Vivian Chow doesn’t want to leave Hong Kong too much nowadays, and that is because of her “little babies”.

No, not real babies. Her fur babies, to be exact.

In a recent interview at a brand event in Taiwan, the singer revealed that she is rushing back to Hong Kong after the event, and explained, “I miss my cats very much. One of them is still sick. I hope to go home soon. My husband said that they seem to have no motivation when I am not home.”

Vivian stated that her three cats, Zhu Pi, BB and Mike are older now, which meant that she would rather not leave them and travel too far.

“Nowadays, when I go to work [away from Hong Kong], I rely on my husband to take care of them,” she admitted.

Asked if husband Joe Nieh would lose motivation just like her cats when she’s away, Vivian laughed and said, “He is fine. He can have the cats all to himself. He sends me many photos of them with him every day.”

Vivian Chow has recently addressed rumours of marital woe publicly for the first time to the media, a few months after she was reported to have gone her separate ways from husband, Joe Nieh.

As reported on Oriental Daily, the Hong Kong singer, who was asked by HK01 about the latest divorce rumour, said that due to the environment that she grew up in, she is used to seeing that sort of thing since she was very young.

“We just laughed because these news are so fake. You don’t even have to be very smart to tell how fake it is when you look at it,” she said.

It is noted that Vivian previously responded to the said rumour via social media, after she was said to have left their family home in April. She posted a photo of a bird and wrote that she and her husband are still happily married.

Meanwhile, when asked if she has plans to return to filming, Vivian said that she often receives offers but has yet to find a role that gets her attention.

“Give me the motivation to act and I will do it,” she added.

Amid rumours of split with husband Joe Nieh, Vivian Chow seemed to be addressing the speculations indirectly via social media.

As reported on Sina, on 12 April, the actress shared a photo of a pigeon on her Instagram, and wrote, “Being able to watch birds at home makes me and my husband feel so happy.”

The random post was speculated to be Vivian’s way of denying the rumours that she has filed for divorce from her husband. Tabloids also alleged that the singer even transferred her property with Joe leaving their marital home.

However, many doubted the rumour, seeing that Vivian and Joe’s relationship has always been stable.

Vivian and Joe, the son of famous novelist Ni Kuang, met back in 1989, and dated for a few years before they broke up. However, the two reconciled in 1997 and tied the knot 12 years later.
