Stephy Qi (aka Qi Wei) is not one to shy away from admitting that the change of her appearance on a recent TV show was due to “too much Botox”.

The issue sparked recently, when the actress appeared in the variety show, “Viva La Romance” with a swollen face and droopy eyes, which many noted to be very different from her usual self.

Her appearance had since sparked a heated discussion on Chinese social media, with many alleging that she has had a lot of plastic surgery on her face.

In response to the claims, Stephy took to her vlog and admitted that she has had Botox injected into her face for work reasons, but “accidentally got too much”.

“I injected a little too much, and the work schedule was too intensive, so I didn’t have any time to recover. Plus, I had a high fever that day, so my whole body was very swollen,” she said.

As for her droopy eyes, Stephy said that she wasn’t able to raise her eyebrows because of the Botox, adding, “If you can’t lift your eyebrows, your eyes will want to lift them up, and your eyes will tend to droop.”

She then laughed and sang Super Juniors’ song “Sorry, Sorry”, before reminding netizens to not go too far when it comes to cosmetic procedures.

Fans and netizens couldn’t help but fell in love with Stephy’s honesty, with one saying, “Stephy is so straightforward. She doesn’t hide anything she has done and has no issue sharing it with everyone.”
