Sisley Choi has recently dismissed the idea that her departure from TVB was related to the feeling of disappointment towards the broadcaster.

The actress, who attended her first public event on 15 March following news of her leaving the company, stated that the company supports her venturing out.

She revealed that her contract expired at the beginning of the year, and she only made the announcement after processing her feelings.

When asked if TVB had tried to retain her, Sisley emphasised that she had a good understanding and relationship with TVB. She said it was her desire to venture out, and the company agreed with her decision.

She also stated that they would contact her again if needed in the future, adding, “We discussed it together, like talking to my parents about studying abroad, and they agreed to let me go and try it out.”

As for now, the actress said that she is discussing collaborations with other companies and is temporarily trying to negotiate work independently, aiming to break into the film industry.

When asked about reports that she has someone to take care of her, Sisley laughed and said, “I have parents and friends to take care of, in fact, for many years we are living in the same house. Please continue to pay attention to my subsequent works.”

Rumours continue to swirl that Sisley Choi has left TVB, after she is no longer listed in the TVB website’s Artiste section.

On 28 February, a search for her name yielded no result on the website, suggesting that her profile has now been deleted by TVB, further fueling reports that she has not renewed her contract with the broadcaster.

Rumours of her departure first sparked last month, when she changed her Instagram profile by deleting the contact number for her TVB manager. She also had spoken in a recent interview, saying that she has no new drama in hand.

“I can’t say how long my contract lasts. I think it’s all arranged in the dark. Actually, I’ve always had plans for my work,” she stated then.

Back on her birthday in early February, Sisley hinted on something new on her social media, writing in the caption, “Red for rebirth. Chrome for clarity. Black for the fire’s shadow. This year, the story begins again.”

The actress made her debut with TVB in 2013 after winning first runner-up at the Miss Hong Kong pageant. Her first drama was “Overachievers,” which aired in 2014.

Sisley Choi has recently dismissed rumours saying that she supposedly has been living a luxurious life funded by a powerful man.

On 9 November, the actress who appeared at the Science Park for the Uni-China Corporate Charity Run laughed when asked if she had moved into a larger house, complete with a chauffeur, despite her decreased workload. She responded, “Everybody knows where I live. If I were truly wealthy, I would help those in need around the world and build schools.”

Sisley admitted that sometimes she hires photographers at her own expense to take good photos for events, but there is absolutely no truth to the claim of moving to a larger house.

As for the rumours that she was taken to dinner parties by influential people and was even addressed as “madam”, she responded helplessly, “I don’t even know about these things. Usually, I’m the one calling other people madam.”

She emphasised that she was not affected by the rumours, but hoped that everyone would focus more on her work performance.

Regarding earlier rumours that she would be involved in Stephen Chow’s new film “Women’s Soccer,” Sisley only stated that she has indeed taken on a new role, but cannot disclose details due to a confidentiality agreement.

“Shaolin Soccer” actor Tin Kai Man recently revealed that Stephen Chow has already begun filming in Shenzhen for a month.

The actor, who is also a production manager, told the media at a recent event that the progress of “Shaolin’s Women Soccer” was slow at first but is now on track.

“In the first week, I asked him if filming went smoothly, and he said it was just so-so, worried about gains and losses.”

As for whether the progress was affected because Stephen hadn’t filmed for a long time, Tin denied it, saying, “It’s a matter of dedication, it’s not something that can be done right from the start.”

When asked about which actors will star in the film, Tin, who claimed to be helping Stephen find and cast the actors, only revealed that there is mainland actress Dilraba Dilmurat, and Hong Kong actress Sisley Choi. He added that he was not in a position to reveal the other actors.

As to whether Stephen will act again, he said, “I know he wants to make movies, but he doesn’t want to repeat the roles that the audience expected. It would be best if he could face the audience as a new Stephen Chow, so that everyone would be happy and he wouldn’t have so much pressure to perform.”

Despite all rumours linking her to singer Hubert Wu, Sisley Choi stressed that she is still single.

The actress, who sat down for an interview with Mingpao recently, admitted that while she and Hubert love each other very much, they cherish the friendship they have.

“I am currently single and I hope that the right man will appear soon,” she said. “If my future partner doesn’t mind it, I would definitely announce my relationship when the time comes.”

Sisley, who has worked as a nanny prior to joining Miss Hong Kong and becoming an actress, stated that she has always loved children and want to recover her health in preparation for future babies.

She admitted to have had been suffering problems with her hormones due to her work schedules and lack of rest.

“After work, my head still refused to “turn off” from memorising the scripts and I got chronic insomnia over time,” she said. “It was exacerbated by people’s criticisms of me. I knew that it was unhealthy and wanted to change it. Being an actor is not as easy as you think.”

However, the actress is now learning to adjust herself and face every situation calmly.

Nobody works harder to get Stephen Chow’s attention than TVB actress Sisley Choi, who went above and beyond to show her talents in order to get cast for the comedy auteur’s upcoming new movie.

On 16 July, the actress and Miss Hong Kong alumna posted a video, in which she shared several clips of her doing lots of actions in various countries, from balancing a ball on her chest while wearing an European period gown, dancing while dribbling a ball, as well as doing a ridiculous “push up” with only one finger.

She also showed off her ability of giving deadpan expressions, synonymous with Stephen’s humour.

She posted, “Dear Stephen, it has been three weeks since your birthday. It may be late, but I was thinking of you every moment of the whole trip. I walked nine cities and visit the masters of all walks of life. I am ready.”

It was back in June that Stephen announced on social media that he is looking for actresses for his new project called “Shaolin Women’s Soccer”. He had since received lots of applications and interests, including from the former Chinese goalkeeper Zhao Lina.

Sisley Choi and Hubert Wu couldn’t help but laugh off rumours that the two of them have broken up, as they have never even admitted to be in love in the first place.

As reported on HK01, earlier this week, tabloids reported that Sisley has ended her two-year romance with the singer and is now dating anew.

Perplexed by the rumour, the TVB actress told the media that she and Hubert have always been good friends, adding jokingly that even she would like to know the identity of her supposed new romantic interest.

“Thank you for your concern, but my love life is not as exciting as you think. The kind of relationship that I want should be very simple. It’s enough for two people to be happy and feel comfortable together,” she said.

On the other hand, Hubert recently took to Instagram Story to address the rumour, saying that he is recently reminded of how teachers used to teach kids to be imaginative.

“It turns out, this is what it means. It is good to entertain oneself with unlimited creativity, but it’s not good to take it out of context and hurt others,” he added.

Despite the continuous romance rumours between the two of them, Hubert Wu recently stressed that he and Sisley Choi are just friends.

In an interview with Mingpao recently, the singer, whose romance rumour with the TVB actress sparked again after the latter was spotted attending his concert for two consecutive nights, stated that the two of them are “comrades who support each other spiritually.”

“Our topic is no longer just about eating, drinking and having fun. We discuss in depth about being a good actor, a good singer, and a good person, and we both strive for achievements in our careers. Whenever one party experience setbacks, the other will give encouragement,” he said.

Hubert added that he is happy to be able to have such a friend in Sisley.

Asked if there is a chance for their relationship to rise to the next level, the singer stated that he would not rule it out.

“There is nothing impossible. But we will always prioritise our careers,” he said.

Speaking about marriage, Hubert stated that he hopes that he will be able to be a man who can support his family but is able to spend time with them as well.

Sisley Choi really has had it with the media’s interest in her love life, announcing on social media that enough is enough.

The TVB actress, who has been romantically linked to Hubert Wu as well as being accused of dating a wealthy financial heir, was recently alleged to have been having a relationship with Hubert while still seeing the other man behind the singer’s back.

It was also reported that she is now living in a luxury home in Sai Kung, and has been living a rich woman’s life.

On 25 September, the TVB actress took to Instagram and posted, “I am indeed very rich, because I have many friends, relatives and work partners who cherish me and trust me.”

“I will continue to take care of myself and do my job well. Thank you for your concern,” she added.

Sisley Choi has no interest to explain herself again when it comes to the latest romance rumour linking her to 29 year-old Hong Kong gold wholesaler Sam Choi.

As reported on Mingpao, tabloids previously alleged that the actress has “left” rumoured boyfriend Hubert Wu for Sam, despite claims that the latter was not only married with a daughter but also has a mistress. The rumour sparked after Sisley was seen leaving in Sam’s limo after the TVB Anniversary Awards.

When asked about it at the recent celebration of “Legal Mavericks II”, Sisley stated that she will not comment on things that are not facts.

“I hope that everybody can see that I have been working hard and deserve the award, so I won’t clarify. I hope everybody will focus on my work,” she said.

It is noted that the actress recently won her first Best Actress accolade at the aforementioned awards.

She also expressed her happiness for Hubert, who recently won Most Popular Male Singer at the 2020 Jade Solid Gold Awards, saying that she may celebrate their recent wins when they have time.

In a previous interview, Sisley had explained her being in Sam’s limo, saying that the businessman gave her the number of his driver so that she can use the service after finding out that she has been borrowing Hubert sister’s car to get around.
