While she does want to have another baby after giving birth to her first child, Shiga Lin recently stated that she would like to get back to work first.

As reported on Mingpao, the mother of one, who appeared at a shopping mall Lunar New Year event, stated that she wants to try for a son after welcoming a daughter with actor husband Carlos Chan.

“But it had been challenging losing my post-pregnancy weight. So, I want to perform, act in shows, film dramas and save money first,” she said.

Aside from using all of her free time to practice her singing and dancing, Shiga said that she and Carlos have also been preparing for a 10km marathon.

Asked what Carlos thinks of her plans, the singer said, “He knows what I love to do and understands that I still have many dreams to pursue. He feels that I can take care of the family and also work at the same time.”

The couple welcomed their baby Camilla in July last year.

Shiga Lin is now back to work after giving birth to her first child back in July.

As reported on Mingpao, the singer, who appeared at a brand event recently, admitted that her body is not “fully ready” for her comeback, and that she needs to shed a few more pounds before she can fully resume work.

Admitting that she gained a lot of weight after giving birth and considers herself a “milk-maker”, Shiga said lightheartedly, “It’s quite the hard work, but it is food for the baby so I am really grateful.”

Speaking about her husband Carlos Chan, Shiga said that the actor is back in Hong Kong now and is slowly learning to take care of the baby.

As to whether she wants more babies in the future, the singer said that she does want to have more than one child, but hasn’t decided when that will be.

“I will take a break for the time being,” she said.

Nearly a week after announcing the birth of their first baby, Shiga Lin took to social media to share the first photos of her, husband Carlos Chan, and baby Camila as a family.

On 24 July, the singer shared three photos on Instagram, including one of her and her newborn daughter, and wrote, “Our first family portrait. It turned out that it is almost a week since I became a mother. The moment I was discharged I looked at the baby and suddenly felt very touched and cried.”

“Looking at this little life, I just want to give her the best in the future. I want to protect her and love her. I hope she grows up happy and happy. Living every day is enough…” she added.

It was back on 18 July that Carlos and Shiga announced that they have welcomed their little bundle of joy whom they have named Camila.

The couple tied the knot in April 2023 after meeting on the TVB variety show, “12 Summers” and announced their pregnancy in February this year.

Shiga Lin and Carlos Chan will soon become parents to a baby girl.

On 28 May, the couple took to social media to share the good news with several pregnancy photos, in which the singer was seen showing off her baby bump that she decorated with heart stickers and the name “Baby Camila” written across her belly.

“31 weeks. I’m so looking forward to meeting Baby Camila,” she posted.

Fans and friends alike took to the comments to congratulate the couple, with Inez Leong, who recently gave birth to her second child, writing, “Baby Camila, can’t wait to see her.”

It is noted that Carlos and Shiga first confirmed news of the pregnancy on Lantern Festival, revealing that the baby is due in July.

Carlos will be flying off to Malaysia to shoot his new movie, and will be taking a ten-day break soon after to accompany Shiga as she prepares to give birth.

Carlos Chan recently revealed that he has only learned to cherish his family as he reached 30 years of age.

The 37-year-old actor, who stars in the new movie, “We Are Family”, shared that he worked too hard in his 20s to really care about the people around him, and only realised the importance of a family as he entered the big 3-0.

“No matter how much money I make, what I want most is to see my family happy. Especially now, after I got married and have my own family, I realised how hard it was for my parents to raise my sister and me. Now, when I am tired, I can go home and ignore everything, but my parents, even when they were home, they still had to take care of us,” he said.

Carlos also stated that he realised now how much he and his sibling must have broken his parents’ hearts, especially whenever they got angry that the food their mother cooked were not up to their taste.

In the new movie, Carlos plays a man from a broken family who establishes a company with a single mother (Catherine Chau) where they provide a rental family service. The two then hired a movie extra (Eric Tsang) as well as a charterer (Kelly Tien Niu) to join the service, finally realising that they have become a family of their own.

Shiga Lin has recently made her first appearance since announcing her pregnancy.

The singer, who was in three-inch high heels and not showing much of a baby bump when she appeared at a fundraising programme, shared that she has gained eight pounds since her pregnancy and is having problem finding clothes to wear to events.

Admitting her taste has changed drastically since she became pregnant, Shiga said that she now loves eating sour and strong-flavoured foods, including pizza and pasta.

Asked if husband Carlos Chan has persuaded her to work less often in her condition, the singer said that the actor only reminds her to be careful and would help her whenever he’s around.

“I am not very clumsy, but I am still not used to the changes of my body,” she added.

Asked if she plans to have more babies in the future, Shiga responded, “It depends on the situation. I hope everything goes well and my baby is healthy.”

Michelle Wai couldn’t help but laugh after veteran actress Nancy Sit mistakenly congratulated her for her “pregnancy”.

As reported on Mingpao, the actress, who was interviewed by Nancy on a programme for Metro Radio, laughed and patted on her belly to prove that she was not pregnant upon receiving congratulatory wishes from Nancy, who had mistaken her for Shiga Lin.

It is noted that both stars share the same Chinese name – Wai Sze Nga and Lin Si Nga. While Shiga, who is married to Carlos Chan, announced her pregnancy earlier; it is noted that Michelle, who is also good friends with Carlos, did play his pregnant wife in a movie prior to that.

When asked about it, Michelle said that she was not affected at all by the mistake, since she was often mistaken for Shiga Lin.

“Dad’s friends often confused any news about me and her. They congratulated me on my marriage all the time. My father is not having a grandson. His daughter’s surname is Wai,” she said with a laugh.

As for Carlos and Shiga’s good news, Michelle said that she has already congratulated the actor as soon as the news came out.

Shiga Lin’s team had to apologise to mainland fans after a recent Weibo post from her account seemed to insinuate that the singer thought of mainland China and Hong Kong as two different entities.

As reported on Mingpao, the blunder occurred recently, when a post on Shiga’s Weibo read that she hasn’t “performed abroad for a long time” since the COVID-19 pandemic.

The post was quickly edited soon after, with the lines now read, “For the past few years, due to the pandemic, I haven’t performed outside of Hong Kong for a long time.” However, some netizens have already seen the original post, and shared it online.

Shiga’s management Starz Entertainment had since released a statement apologising for the blunder, saying that it was posted by a new employee without the consent of the singer and the company. They added that the post had since been corrected and the new employee dismissed.

Meanwhile, the singer’s husband Carlos Chan recently shared in an interview that Shiga and the company have already dealt with the incident and that his wife is now focused on rehearsing for her upcoming mainland concert.

“There was a misunderstanding in communication, because her social account is not managed by one person, and she is not in charge,” he added.

Just a few days after tying the knot with actor Carlos Chan, Shiga Lin revealed that she will be travelling to Malaysia to meet her fans.

On 26 April, the singer-actress posted the good news on social media, writing, “It’s finally happening!!!! Shiga Lin 1st Fan Meeting in Kuala Lumpur. It’s been a long time since I met my friends in Malaysia. I miss you and look forward to meeting you again.”

“Hope to see you then,” she added.

The event is set to be held on 12 August at ZEPP Kuala Lumpur, with tickets priced at RM298 and RM198. Fans will be able to buy the tickets beginning 2 May via www.etix.my.
