Zanjoe Marudo is finally admitting himself that he is dating actress Ria Atayde.

The actor opened up about their relationship earlier this week while promoting his new series, “Dirty Linen”, telling Karen Davila that the relationship is already out in the open.

However, when asked if the two have plans to tie the knot anytime soon, he laughed and responded, “I am really enjoying my situation in life, in my career, in my personal life, but of course, those things are still too personal.”

It was Ria’s mother, actress Sylvia Sanchez who first revealed that the two are dating, though both Zanjoe and Ria were not secretive about it, openly sharing photos of them together on social media back in November.

Ria Atayde has recently laughed off the notion that she and Joshua Garcia could be in a relationship.

The actress, who was asked about her close friendship with the actor during the advanced screening of her series, “Miss Piggy”, stated that she and Joshua laughed about the continuous rumours regarding them.

“He’s such a dear friend to me and I feel like it’s nice to know that we are as comfortable as we are with one another,” she said.

Ria also stated that she prefers having Joshua as a friend rather than a boyfriend, since she can keep him forever, she said.

“I mean, I get it. Josh is an amazing guy. Some people are better off as friends that way because that way you’re more secure that you won’t lose him in your life. So I guess that’s just that, we’re better off as friends so at least I know I can keep him forever,” she said.

Joshua’s age may also be the reason why Ria doesn’t see them being together, since the actor is five years younger than her.

“He’s an attractive guy, but he’s just really younger than me. I’m 30 and Josh is what? Turning 25,” she added.

Ria Atayde recently assured that she is doing fine now, after undergoing surgery for herniated disc back in April.

The actress, who spoke to the media at the Star Magic Black Pen Media Con that was held on 21 June, stated that it has been two months and 13 days since the surgery, and that she will be going to the doctors for a post-op appointment in a few days.

“I’m okay. I’m off painkillers officially so there’s that. So we’re doing good,” she said.

“Actually it really made me feel like I’m brand new again. Although there is still some pain after surgery on my lower back, I’m able to work better already. Actually I really had it done [so] I could act properly,” she said.

In her past interview, Ria admitted that she did her best to avoid spinal surgery, but that she finally decided to go under the knife after realising that she could no longer stand and sit properly.

“I really want to be able to continue to act and I know that for a fact, if I kept my injury there, it would not be easy when you have to act,” she stated at the time.
