Netflix’s Regency Era-inspired series “Bridgerton” has been renewed for seasons 5 and 6.

The news was shared by the series via social media through its own Lady Whistledown’s Society Papers, saying, “It is with great pleasure that I can announce Bridgerton shall return for Seasons 5 and 6. Do celebrate accordingly.”

It also added that season 4 will be making its debut in 2026.

“It would seem this author is going to be quite busy,” the statement added.

The fourth season will feature the story from Julia Quinn’s “An Offer from a Gentleman”, which revolves around the second Bridgerton son, Benedict as he falls for a mystery woman, Sophie at a masquerade ball.

Yerin Ha has been cast as the leading lady for the fourth season, which sees the return of other cast members including Jonathan Bailey, Simone Ashley, Nicola Coughlan, and many others.

It looks like fans of “Bridgerton” will have to wait a longer time for season four of the hit Regency-inspired Netflix series.

According to showrunner Jess Brownell, who was asked about the season to come, stated that they are trying their best to put the seasons out more quickly, but that the production and post-production work itself will take some time.

“They do take eight months to film and then they have to be edited, and then they have to be dubbed into every language. And the writing takes a very long time as well, so we’re kind of on a two-year pace, we’re trying to speed up but somewhere in that range,” she said.

As to whether or not Benedict Bridgerton, whose story was being postponed to give way to the Penelope-Colin romance this season, will finally have his time of the day in season four, Brownell is keeping mum on the details.

“I’m really excited about what we’re writing. We’re towards the end with the writers’ room season, with the scripts. And I feel like it’s some of my best work and my writers room’s best work. We’ve just really gelled our collaboration, and we’re firing on all cylinders so I can’t wait for fans to see what we have,” she added.

Part two of season three was released on 13 June.

Good news to Bridgerton fans around the globe – new images have now been released for the third season of the hit Regency era-inspired show.

The third season, which is based on Julia Quinn’s fourth book, “Romancing Mister Bridgerton”, will revolve around Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) as she focuses on finding herself a husband after getting over her crush on Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton).

Meanwhile, Colin, fresh from his summer travels, is disheartened to learn that Penelope is giving him the cold shoulder.

Back in 2022, the producers revealed that they have decided to skip the third book, “An Offer from a Gentleman”, which would focus on the second Bridgerton son, Benedict.

The new season also welcomes new showrunner and executive producer Jess Brownell, who replaces creator Chris Van Dusen, who will remain as producer alongside Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers, and Tom Verica.

All you “Bridgerton” fans; dust out your bonnets and prepare your crumpets because the show is coming to you in March!

The good news was recently shared by Shondaland on 25 December with a video of the cast reading Lady Whistledown’s message, in which the character wishes all the audience a happy one-year anniversary.

“It is customary for a first anniversary, to gift paper, dear readers. I do hope you find this one informative. Bridgerton returns March 25th,” the cast read.

The studio tweeted, “The ton is abuzz with the news, dear reader. #Bridgerton returns March 25th, 2022.”

The second season will focus on the eldest sibling of the Bridgerton family, Anthony, who sets out to find a suitable wife. It stars Jonathan Bailey, Simone Ashley, Adjoa Andoh, Nicola Coughlan and many more, with Julie Andrew voicing the character of Lady Whistledown.

Nicola Coughlan recently admitted that she is excited about returning to her character in season 2 of “Bridgerton”, especially now that the viewers are in the know about Penelope’s secret identity.

The actress, who sat down for an interview recently, stated that season 2 will see her balancing both roles at the same time as the kind and beloved Penelope Featherington, as well as the rumour-monger Lady Whistledown.

“It’s so much fun because last time I got to do it, but in a super subtle way. It could never be overt, because you didn’t want it to be obvious to the audience. So with Penelope’s reveal, you’ll hear people saying, ‘I knew straightaway’ and ‘I never expected it.’ I don’t want to say too much but, but you will be on the journey with her this time. And it’s this really fun thing for the audience to be in on it,” she said.

Coughlan added that she has always been excited about marrying the two worlds of Penelope and Lady Whistledown together.

“Coming in to Season 2, she’s a bit more wise. She knows the game a little bit more, but also getting to see both sides of her and to play, it’s so much fun. I really am having a ball, I can’t lie,” she stated.

Coughlan will be joined by many of the original stars including Phoebe Dynevor who plays Daphne Bridgerton; Claudia Jessie, who plays Penelope’s best friend Eloise Bridgerton; as well as Jonathan Bailey, whose character Anthony Bridgerton will have centre stage in season two.

They will be joined by new cast members that include Charithra Chandran, Calam Lynch, Rupert Young, as well as Simone Ashley who will play Anthony’s new love interest Kate Sharma.
