Wei Bird postpones Singapore, Malaysia concerts to 2021

While Wei Bird has remained hopeful that he will be able to able to perform for fans in Singapore and Malaysia this year, the Taiwanese singer now has no choice but to delay the concerts yet again.

His “Wei Bird ‘At Thirty’ World Tour 2020” concerts in both countries have now been postponed to March next year.

The Singapore show, originally set for 28 March before being rescheduled to 22 August, has been moved to a new date while its time and venue remain the same.

The latest details for “Wei Bird ‘At Thirty’ World Tour in Singapore” are as below:

Date: 6 March 2021 (Saturday)

Time: 7.30pm

Venue: Sands Expo and Convention Centre Hall F @ Marina Bay Sands

Meanwhile the show in Malaysia, originally set for 4 April but was later rescheduled to 12 September, will also retain the same time and venue despite the date change.

The latest details for “Wei Bird ‘At Thirty’ World Tour in Malaysia” are as below:

Date: 20 March 2021 (Saturday)

Time: 7.30pm

Venue: Mega Star Arena Viva Mall

Ticketholders are advised to hold on to their tickets as these will remain valid for the rescheduled concert dates.

However, ticketholders who wish to get a refund can do so by contacting the respective ticketing platforms by 27 July 2020.

Kenny G’s postponed Genting concert is officially cancelled

Unfortunately for Kenny G fans who have been anticipating the saxophonist’s upcoming concert in Genting, the event has now been officially cancelled.

“To all fans who had been looking forward to the event, the organiser Star Planet extends its sincere apology and will endeavour to bring back the live performance in second quarter of 2021 if situation improves in the manner which is conducive to live events,” stated the press release from the concert’s organiser.

When the concert was announced last December, it was planned to be held at Arena of Stars, Resorts World Genting on 16 February 2020.

It was later announced a week before the concert was to be held that the February show had to be postponed due to the global COVID-19 outbreak. A new date was confirmed a few days later; the concert was rescheduled to 18 October 2020.

With the latest update being the concert’s cancellation, all ticket holders are allowed to request for full refund, starting from this 25 June.

Information on the refund can be found on Star Planet and Genting’s respective websites.

However, as stated above, Kenny G could be returning for a concert in Malaysia next year, so there’s that to look forward to!

5566’s concert in Malaysia postponed again

Last year, Mandopop trio 5566 had to push their December concert in Malaysia to this June, citing “unforeseen circumstances with logistic issues” as a reason.

Unfortunately, with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic forcing all entertainment events to be delayed or cancelled, the Taiwanese band will have to yet again postpone their KL concert.

The news was announced by organiser AC Music Entertainment, who stated that the concert – set for the evening of 13 June 2020 – has to be postponed until further notice.

“A further announcement will be made regarding the new concert date as venue will remain unchanged,” the statement read, assuring fans that the upcoming concert will still be held at Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil.

5566’s KL concert will still be held at Axiata Arena, though no longer in June 2020.

Fans who have already secured tickets to the June show are advised to hold on to their tickets, which will still be valid for the new date.

However, ticketholders who wish to get their money back will not be able to do so at the moment as the refund process has yet to be announced.

Tony Sun, Zax Wang and Jason Hsu last visited Malaysia in September 2019 for a fan meeting prior to their December concert, organised by AC Music Entertainment, MH Entertainment and Gorgeous Entertainment. Due to current circumstances, the trio might only meet their Malaysian fans again either late this year or even early next year, depending on the COVID-19 situation.

Postponed Borneo Music Festival Live 2020 begins refund process

The first edition of the Borneo Music Festival Live (BMFL) 2020 would’ve taken place in Sarawak, Malaysia, last weekend but the COVID-19 pandemic, unfortunately, thwarted the plan.

It has not been cancelled, though no new dates have been set. It is only stated on BMFL 2020’s social media that it is “being postponed until the situation gets better”.

After confirming last month that the event was no longer going to be held on 10 to 11 April, the organisers have recently started the refund process for ticketholders who wish to get their money back.

Request for refund is open until this 26 April (Sunday). The refund steps and form can be found on BMFL 2020’s Facebook.

Many are commenting that even though they were looking forward to attending the event, they were also worried that they might not be able to accommodate the yet-to-be-announced new dates in their future schedules.

BMFL 2020 is just one of the many events of the year that had to be shifted to later dates, as large gatherings and long distance travelling are discouraged at the moment to prevent further spread of the virus that has to date claimed 126,681 lives worldwide.

No refunds for Search and Awie’s postponed concert

Originally scheduled for this weekend, rock legends Search and Awie’s joint “Apologia” concert was recently announced as postponed.

The 28 March concert at The Bee, Publika has been moved to 30 June 2020 (Tuesday).

No refunds will be given to ticketholders, as stated in the announcement from the organiser that was also shared on Awie’s social media, since the concert is only postponed and not cancelled.

Of course, this means anyone who has purchased the tickets either online or via ticketing agents can still use the same tickets for the upcoming June concert.

In his Instagram post, Awie also reminded fans to hold on to their tickets for future use and added that ticket sales will be momentarily stopped.

The postponement of the concert was done – no surprise – due to the worsening COVID-19 situation in Malaysia, which is currently in the midst of a two-week Movement Control Order imposed by the government.

The order prohibits large gatherings and requires citizens to stay home at all times (except for necessary trips for groceries or medical purposes), among others.

Pakho Chau postpones Genting concert indefinitely

Pakho Chau recently announced that his upcoming concert in Genting with Jinny Ng has been postponed due to COVID-19.

As reported on Mingpao, the singer recently posted the notice released by concert organiser Galaxy 100, which stated that the “Pakho & Jinny Live in Malaysia” has been postponed indefinitely.

He wrote, “After discussing with the team, we decided to postpone the concert. I apologise for the trouble of inconveniencing everybody. Thank you for your support and love, but I also have a responsibility to protect everybody’s health and safety.”

“I hope that we can defeat the [pandemic] and return to normal life as soon as possible,” he added.

Pakho was originally scheduled to go to Malaysia recently to attend the press conference to announce the said concert, but the event was then cancelled due to the pandemic.

New date to be set for Borneo Music Festival Live 2020

Despite tickets to the inaugural Borneo Music Festival Live (BMFL) 2020 selling like hot cakes, the event had to be postponed due to the outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19).

The postponement of BMFL 2020 was announced by the organisers earlier this month. Comments have been pouring in since then from fans regarding the new dates, but the organisers have yet to set new ones.

Understandably, getting all the acts together for the new – much later – dates will not be easy considering the current coronavirus situation which, as of today, has been classified as a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO).

As for refund, the organisers are also still ironing out the details for that, so fans will have to hang tight for now.

It is only confirmed at the moment that all the tickets purchased for the original April event will remain valid for the new dates.

The first ever BMFL was originally scheduled to be held at Sarawak Cultural Village on 10 and 11 April 2020.

Wei Bird’s Malaysia, Singapore concerts moved to new dates

Taiwanese singer Wei Bird last month assured fans that his upcoming “Wei Bird ‘At Thirty’ World Tour 2020” concerts in Singapore and Malaysia will go ahead as planned.

Unfortunately, due to recent developments related to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, organiser IMC Live Global announced that the March and April concerts have been postponed to later dates.

“This decision is made with the safety of our artiste, fans and staff as our first priority and IMC Live Global will continue to act in accordance with the advice and regulations of the local government authorities,” the organiser stated.

Only the date for the Singapore concert has changed, venue and time remain the same.

The Singapore concert, originally set for 28 March, has been moved to 22 August 2020. It will, however, still be held at Sands Expo & Convention Centre Hall F at 7.30pm.

Tickets are priced at SGD198 (Limited VIP Package), SGD158 (CAT 1), SGD128 (CAT 2), SGD98 (CAT 3), and SGD68 (CAT 4).

Same goes for Malaysia, no changes to the venue and time, only the date.

As for Malaysia, the concert in Kuala Lumpur has been moved from 4 April to 12 September 2020. But it will still be held at Mega Star Arena Viva Mall at 7.30pm.

Tickets are priced at RM488 (Limited VIP Package), RM388 (CAT 1), RM288 (CAT 2), RM188 (CAT 3), and RM98 (CAT 4).

The tickets that fans have bought for the original dates will remain valid for the new dates.

However, fans who can’t make it to the rescheduled concerts have until this 23 March to reach out to the respective ticketing platforms that they have purchased their tickets from for refunds.

Wired Music Week 2020 no longer happening this weekend

Originally set to be held from 12 to 15 March at Zouk Genting, Wired Music Week (WMW) 2020 has now been postponed.

As is with most major events that are either getting postponed or cancelled at the moment, the WMW 2020 postponement was made due to “recent global developments and concerns over the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation”, according to the statement released by the organisers.

All purchased tickets remain valid for the new dates, which have yet to be revealed but will be announced soon. Anyone looking for a full refund can reach out to Pouch Nation via email.

To date, there is no record of anyone being diagnosed with COVID-19 at Resorts World Genting, which has taken extensive measures to reduce the spreading of the virus and continues to operate as normal.

Those who are making their way to Genting this weekend, don’t fret, you’ll still get to enjoy some pumping beats at Zouk Genting.

Slipknot and Trivium’s “Singapore Rockfest II” show postponed

While rock fans get to rock out with Scorpions and Whitesnake at “Singapore Rockfest II” today, they unfortunately won’t be able to do so with Slipknot and Trivium anytime soon.

The latter two were initially scheduled to perform under the same Rockfest banner later this month but have decided to postpone their appearances due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

“In light of global health concerns, Slipknot have decided to postpone their upcoming Asian tour, including Knotfest Japan. While decisions like this are not easy, the safety and well-being of the band’s fans always comes first,” says a statement from Slipknot, as posted on organiser LAMC Productions’ social media.

“Furthermore, in this case, the bands and artists, crew and local employees are also equally affected, and as such, this was the only responsible decision that could be made. Slipknot and Knotfest will both return to Asia very soon, and at such time that everyone can be ensured of the best experience possible.”

Trivium also released their statement: “Due to circumstances outside of our control we have been forced to postpone all of our tour dates in March in Japan, Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia. We also will not be making a scheduled press stop in Germany at this time. We hope to reschedule these dates very soon. Thanks, and stay safe out there.”

Don’t worry fans, those who have purchased their tickets to the 24 March show at Fort Canning Park can hang on to their tickets, as those will still be valid for the Singapore rescheduled date, which will be announced soon.

Italian goth metal band Lacuna Coil has cancelled their upcoming show in Singapore.

Just a couple of hours before the abovementioned postponement was announced, another act for “Singapore Rockfest II” was revealed to have cancelled their appearance at the music festival’s “The Afterfest Party”.

Milan-based gothic metal band Lacuna Coil says that they have no choice but to cancel their upcoming performances in Dubai, Melbourne, Sydney, Tokyo, Osaka, Singapore and Jakarta.

Their home region, Lombadia, is the center of the coronavirus outbreak that is spreading across Italy and Europe. The band hopes the emergency can soon be contained so they can get back on the road to meet their fans.
