Good news has finally arrived for dancer Mo, real name Li Kai-yin, following the heartbreaking loss of his father, Pastor Derek Li Shing-lam.

On 15 June, it was revealed that the Hong Kong court granted HKD 6.29 million in compensation to the dancer, who was severely injured in an accident that occurred during a 2022 concert by Hong Kong band MIRROR.

In a written judgment, District Judge Phillis Loh ordered Studiodanz Company to pay the maximum compensation permitted under Hong Kong’s Employees’ Compensation Ordinance, and described the incident as “a catastrophe to a young energetic person.”

The judge wrote that the evidence presented to the court substantiated Mo’s permanently disabled condition, stating that he is “incapable of ever leading or appreciating an independent adult life.”

It is noted that the 31-year-old currently requires three carers to provide round-the-clock care.

Mo sustained critical injuries and permanent total incapacity after a suspended LED screen crashed onto the stage and hit him during a performance at the July 2022 MIRROR concert. He was hospitalised with life-altering injuries and underwent extensive rehabilitation, with his late father updating the public on his situation from time to time.

Keung To might be breathing a sigh of relief that he is not in the top 10 of TC Candler’s 100 Most Handsome Faces this year.

The MIRROR member, who made it to the second spot in last year’s list, now ranks at number 12 for the year 2025. Though still a great position, being above other stars like Timothee Chalamet, BTS’ Jimin and even his fellow MIRROR brothers like Anson Kong, the singer at least can be happy to know that the spotlight is not on him.

It is noted that Keung To was not so amused by his second placement in last year’s list, posting on social media, “Please don’t put me on the list anymore… This ranking always makes me incredibly embarrassed…”

Keung To added that he’s content to be the second most handsome in his family, with his father “being the most handsome”.

MakerVille has recently released a statement, following news that dancer Mo (Li Kai Yin) is facing financial setback with his treatment.

Mo was critically injured in an incident that occurred at MIRROR’s concert in July 2022, after a giant LED screen fell on him during a performance. He has been undergoing treatment and rehabilitation ever since.

On 10 September, the company MakerVille, which represents the Hong Kong idol group MIRROR, stated that in addition to providing HKD 10 million in financial support immediately after the incident, they have also been covering Mo’s medical and related expenses and maintained communication with his family.

“We have been responsible for Mo’s medical and related expenses for more than three years, and continue to communicate with Mo’s family. As Mo has started to seek compensation from 12 parties and the relevant judicial procedures are still ongoing, we do not think it is appropriate to make further comments at this stage,” they added.

It was earlier this week, that Mo’s father Pastor Derek Li revealed that there may be funding issues for his future treatment.

Pastor Derek shared that they had once received a verbal promise from a related party to cover the medical expenses, saying, “It was this very promise that opened the door to treatment for Mo and became the driving force behind his perseverance over the past three years. However, it now seems this support may no longer be guaranteed.”

“We don’t know how to move forward from here,” he added.

Lokman Yeung recently addressed the controversy regarding the now-deleted poster of his new single, saying that he will do better next time.

As reported on Mingpao, the singer was recently blasted for sharing the poster for his new song “FLY” that has him and the stage being turned upside down to look as if he was suspended on air while trying to hold on to a lit screen, which reminded many of the accident befallen MIRROR dancer Mo at their 2022 concert.

Asked if he had seen the photo beforehand, Lokman confirmed he had seen it, but neither he, the design team, nor his management noticed its resemblance to the previous tragic incident.

“The concept was built around the stage. If people watch the MV this Thursday, they’ll understand the theme,” he said.

Regarding the oversight, Lokman said that they were only following the concept.

“But we’ll be more sensitive and do better after this, so as not to make people uncomfortable,” he added.

Asked if he has visited Mo, the singer said that he has been following news about the dancer, but that he will give Mo space and pray that he will get better.

It’s been nearly three years since the tragic MIRROR incident at the Hong Kong Coliseum, but the tragedy is still fresh in people’s minds.

Which is why MIRROR’s group leader Lokman Yeung drew flak from netizens, after he and the group’s agency decided to release a poster of his new song that seemed to trigger people’s memory of the incident.

Lokman, who was promoting his new single, “FLY”, posted the promotional poster that depicted him in mid-air, holding up what looks like a falling large screen while being suspended.

Netizens quickly drew parallels to the 2022 MIRROR concert incident, where one of MIRROR’s dancers Mo was seriously injured after an LCD screen unexpectedly collapsed on top of him.

Netizens lambasted the poster design as insensitive, with some accusing MIRROR’s management, Makerville, of being “heartless.”

On the other hand, some fans defended Lokman and the team, saying that it was only meant to show him doing a handstand, but that the image was flipped.

In response to the backlash, MIRROR’s team deleted the original post and reuploaded a new version featuring only the same text but a different image. It now shows Lokman standing atop a glowing platform.

Despite the many opinions that people have about his recent water-related accident, Keung To is not one to pay heed to any of them.

The singer, who made headlines last month after he had to be rescued after falling into the sea, said that he is following his management’s advice not to read any online comments to prevent it from affecting his mood.

“So, I don’t pay too much attention to anything. All comments must have subjectivity, but we will look at ourselves objectively,” he said.

It is noted that several sources claimed that Keung’s accident happened after he climbed over the fence near the pier to evade the crowd of fans seeking photos. The claim came even after Keung explained that he accidentally fell into the sea while trying to watch the sunset.

When asked about it, Keung said that it is very easy to be questioned, being the public figure that he is.

“I’ve passed the age where I’d feel wronged,” he said.

Keung To recently assured that all is well with him after it was reported that he had to be rescued after falling into the sea.

The MIRROR member was previously revealed to have been rescued by a Marine Department boat after the police said that he was found in waters off Sai Wan on 24 June. He was then taken to Queen Mary Hospital for treatment.

The news shocked fans and netizens alike, with many speculating that Keung To was trying to end his life.

However, the singer recently released a short statement via MIRROR manager Ah Fa, saying that it was just a small accident due to his carelessness. Sources claimed that the singer fell into the sea while he was out jogging on Tuesday afternoon as he lost his footing while exercising.

“I’m fine. Please rest assured. I hope there will be no speculation. I’m sorry for causing everyone to worry,” he said.

His agency Makerville also released a statement saying, “”Keung To is currently resting in the hospital. There aren’t any major concerns. We would like to thank everyone who helped in the accident. Sorry for making everyone worry.”

While most people would be flattered to be announced the second most handsome face by TC Candler, Keung To is not one of them.

The singer, who was placed third in last year’s list by the said website, found himself being ranked higher at second place this year, bested only by Chris Hemsworth in first place.

Keung To seemed a little hesitant about it, as he posted on Instagram Story, “Please don’t put me on the list anymore… This kind of ranking makes me embarrassed every time…”

“It feels like I am making it up. I just want to be the second most handsome man in the family (my dad is the most handsome),” he added.

It is noted that the MIRROR member had found himself getting bashed online following the result last year, with some netizens expressing their dissatisfaction with the result as he was supposedly “unknown” to them.

Other celebrities in the list include China’s Zhang Zhehan, as well as MIRROR’s Ansong Kong and Anson Lo at number 23 and 91 respectively.

Although a lot of MIRROR members have already held their own solo concerts, Tiger Yau admitted that he doesn’t yet have a lot of material to be shown off on stage.

The member, who appeared at a beauty product event in Causeway Bay on 30 July, stated that having his own concert would be a dream come true but that he needed to have more solo songs first.

He currently only has one solo single, “Alright”.

Asked if he has urged the record label to produce new songs for him, Tiger said, “I have communicated with the company but I can’t reveal too much. I will release a group song in the future.”

“In addition to singing, I am also filming a drama and will have a new drama later this year,” he said.

The singer also stated that the other members are also busy with their own individual activities, and that it has been quite difficult to make any appointments or to hang out with each other.

Keung To recently revealed that his new song, “You’re Out of this World” is his way of thanking all of his fans who have been supportive of him all this time.

The MIRROR member shared as much on 6 May in an Instagram Story, where he shared the reasons why the new song was recorded and released on various platforms.

“Since I sang it live for everyone at last year’s concert, I thought about whether to release a full version because I felt that the song is enough for the fans who were at the concert. But people around me told me that this song is very good and it should be presented to everyone,” he wrote.

Keung said that he didn’t expect anybody to notice the song after it was released, that is until he saw a lot of comments below the music video.

“It made many people aside from the fans feel warm and positive. Each of them has their own story. The emotions can be applied to this song. It was equally touching,” he said.

The singer also expressed hope that everybody will find someone who is kind to them and that everybody will be grateful.
