After finally confirming that she and husband Rob Mananquil have parted ways, Maxene Magalona took to social media to express her thoughts about moving on.

On 18 October, the actress posted a couple of photos of her in her wedding dress, and shared the seven steps of moving on after a breakup, including “grieve, pray for yourself and your ex, surrender to the present moment and accept the situation.”

She also stressed on being grateful for the lessons one has learned, understanding that one’s ex is also figuring their way through lifetime, the importance of focusing on oneself and finally “let go and let God.”

In another post, she wrote, “Losing a loved one is a form of trauma that changes us forever. When I lost my Dad to cancer back in 2009, I really felt like it was the end of the world because he was my best friend. The pain felt never-ending. But what I didn’t realise back then which I now understand is that once you have already lost the most important person in your life, it makes you so strong and wise that it just becomes easier and clearer to end relationships, both romantic and non-romantic, that are not working or flowing anymore.”

“Life is short—we must only invest our time and energy in connections that are easy flowing and organic. I believe in relationships that flow naturally because I read in the book #TheUntetheredSoul by @michael_a.singer that the love that is naturally flowing between two people is the energy of God. And that is the kind of love that I believe in. A love that grows and flows and should never be forced.

“I am actually very grateful for the failed relationships I’ve had in this lifetime because I understand that I had to go through all of them so that I could determine for myself the soul connections that I want to keep and let go of the ones that don’t match my energy.”

Maxene Magalona has indirectly confirmed rumours that she and husband Rob Mananquil have parted ways in her recent Instagram post.

On 14 August, the actress shared a photo of her having a meal at a Korean restaurant and wrote, “No date? No problem! Perks of being single and childless: You have full control of your schedule. You can literally do anything you want on any day at whatever time.”

“I watch movies in the cinemas alone, take myself out on dates and go on long solo drives especially when my vibration is low. One time, I even felt the sudden urge to buy crystals for extra protection and I was able to do it easily because I have no one else to think of but myself.”

Her words were supported by friend Kathleen Hermosa in the comments, who wrote, “Uhuh!!! Totally agreeing with you on that!! Must learn to be happy alone so we are whole and completely healed when God’s best come along. Or we can totally be happy ALONE!!”

It was early this year that Maxene and Rob, who tied the knot in 2018, sparked separation rumours, fuelled by Maxene talking about having a sad soul during a solo trip to Boracay. However, both parties never publicly addressed the issue.

Maxene Magalona recently took to social media to express her annoyance over people asking her about her baby plans.

The actress, who is married to Rob Mananquil since 2018, revealed that one of the most asked questions for her is why she has yet to have a baby, often from random strangers who took it as a form of small talk.

“First of all, let me clarify that getting asked this question can be very triggering for some. It is awkward, invasive and can be a bit rude. Some women (and men) biologically can’t have children and some don’t even want to have them in the first place. So I encourage those of you who are used to asking this question to try to break the cycle and stop it, if you can. We should all be asking each other, “How are you?” instead of these personal questions,” she wrote.

“Secondly, I want to put it out there that I am 100 [percent] okay with my current life situation. Yes, there have been a lot of rough and painful times but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I understand that this is my unique journey and I simply choose to surrender to God’s plan.”

“Thirdly, I would like to take this opportunity to use my voice to encourage all of you (especially those who don’t have children yet) to consciously ask yourselves if you truly want to have kids or if you’re just following what everyone else in society is doing? Are you just bored? I highly recommend looking within first, check to see if you’ve done enough inner work + healing for you to be able to have kids and get real with yourself about your intentions. If you want to have kids but refuse to heal your childhood wounds, believe me when I say that you will end up unconsciously passing these on to your children. If you don’t want to have kids but still do it anyway because of pressures of society, you will end up resenting yourself and your children as well.”

She also urged everybody to research on “conscious coupling” before they get into relationships and marriages and “conscious parenting” before having children in order to save themselves from unnecessary heartaches.

Maxene Magalona recently admitted that she nearly quit showbiz during the early days of the pandemic, seeing that filming work was shutting down left and right.

As reported on ABS-CBN, the actress, who spoke to the media during the virtual conference for her new series, “Viral Scandal”, stated that she was telling herself at one point that it would be okay if she receives no acting offers again.

“At that time, I didn’t think about whether or not I would get an offer. I wasn’t really pressuring myself,” she said of that period before she was offered the series, having already set out a Plan B of focusing on being a yoga instructor.

Seeing it as a blessing, Maxene stated that it felt like it was meant to be.

“I did not refuse it because it was a blessing, and at the same time, it felt like a sign from God that I need to continue, and I really do love acting,” she said.

The upcoming series, which will tackle social issues particularly on the topic of social media, follows Rica (Charlie Dizon), whose life takes a turn after she was caught in a sensitive viral video.

The series will begin airing on 15 November and co-stars Jake Cuenca, Joshua Garcia, Jameson Blake, Miko Raval and many more.

After a year of living in Bali, Maxene Magalona recently announced that she is back in the Philippines.

The actress shared the good news on 11 March with a photo of her on the bed, which she geotagged ‘Manila, Philippines’, captioning it, “Mabuhay [Philippines].”

Friends including Samantha Lewis, Isabel Oli and Chyna Ortaleza also took to the comments to express their happiness over her return, with the latter writing, “Welcome back!!!”

Maxene is in quarantine for two weeks in a Makati hotel

Maxene, who is currently quarantining herself in a hotel in Makati, posted another photo a few hours later, writing, “There are moments when I still can’t believe that I’m finally back in Manila after living in Bali for more than a year. Being on a tropical island for a long time and then having to come back to a city will not be the smoothest transition.”

“Thankfully, I have to stay in quarantine for a couple of weeks before I can “go back to the real world” which will give me enough time to adjust. This is definitely going to be something new to me as we weren’t living in strict lockdown in Bali. Everyone was free to go around whenever and wherever. So instead of resisting and complaining about not having as much freedom as I used to, I’ve decided to use this time in quarantine for self-reflection, detoxification and integration.”
