A woman claiming to be a celebrity maternity nanny found herself having to clarify that Jelly Lin Yun was not pregnant after sharing a photo with the actress.

It was reported that on 22 April, a social media account called “MsChunglife” posted a message saying that she has been a maternity nanny for the people in the industry for more than 15 years. She stated that she has now retired but will continue to share her daily life with netizens.

Her profile also revealed, “I have advised Angelababy, Tong Liya, Yang Zishan and other celebrities on pregnancy and childbirth nutrition.”

However, the nanny sparked speculations by sharing a photo with “The Mermaid” actress, Jelly Lin Yun, with many expressing curiosity as to why the unmarried actress is seen with her.

“Is she having a baby soon?”, “Is she secretly with a child?” were among the questions asked by netizens.

To that, the nanny had to clarify that it was just a photo taken at a friend’s house, adding, “Please don’t speculate. Thank you.”

Soon, the president of Beijing Fonghong Pictures Zhang Xiaobo also refuted the rumour, saying that the photo was taken when Jelly came to his home two years ago, and Ms Chung was also there at the time.

At present, the original post that sparked the controversy is no longer visible and the account has been cleared.

Never one to miss her mentor’s birthday, Jelly Lin Yun recently took to social media to wish Stephen Chow a happy 62nd birthday.

On 22 June, “The Mermaid” star posted a series of photos of Stephen as a young man, and wrote, “Happy birthday!! The other day I saw a sentence saying ‘Many people ignore Stephen Chow’s looks because of how funny he is’, and I thought it makes sense. So here are the handsome photos I collected from the entire Internet for everyone to enjoy.”

Netizens took to social media to wish Stephen a happy birthday as well, and praised Lin Yun for her dedication in wishing the comedy auteur for the ninth consecutive year.

The actress made her acting debut by being the lead in Stephen’s “The Mermaid” in 2016. Since then, she had become the IT girl and the top choice of many brands.

It’s been many years since they first collaborated, but mainland actress Lin Yun (aka Jelly Lin) stated that she is still in contact with comedy auteur Stephen Chow and is always prepared to celebrate his birthday.

As reported on Epoch Times, the actress, who rose to stardom after making her movie debut through the filmmaker’s 2016 movie, “The Mermaid”, recently shared that she is preparing a big gift for Stephen’s upcoming 60th birthday.

“For the past six years, I have sent him well wishes on his birthday. This time there is a surprise, but of course, it will be kept a secret,” she said.

She added that everybody will find out what the surprise is on the day of Stephen’s birthday, which falls on 22 June.

“Last year, I said that I would go to Hong Kong and have dinner with him. But because of the pandemic, I didn’t get the chance to do so. I will definitely invite him again when I have the chance,” she enthused.

Asked if she is always in contact with Stephen Chow despite her busy schedule, she responded, “Of course. I have always been in touch with Master Sing.”

It is noted that Lin Yun, who was 18 when she was cast in the said movie, originally accompanied a friend to the audition, but in the end stood out from the thousands of young ladies who wanted the chance to work with the famed director.
