Despite being one of the biggest social media influencers in China, YouTuber Li Ziqi is not one to encourage others to be like her.

The content creator, who recently made her YouTube comeback, sat down for an interview, where she was asked to give her opinion about teenagers who have expressed interest to become an internet celebrity or star in the future.

To that she responded, “I hope they can have the right values, study hard and truly become someone who can seize every opportunity there is.”

Li added that she wants the young people of today to learn to make use of opportunities rather than just have dreams.

Her statement had since won praises from many, who stated that Li must know how hard it is to become a social media influencer. Others said that she must have learned from previous mistakes of trusting others when it comes to her brand, and wants young people to be educated enough to make it in the world.

Meanwhile, there are others who questioned Li’s response, with one netizen saying, “I am an internet celebrity, and I don’t want others to be internet celebrities”, and another commenting, “I sincerely suggest that she make more videos and make fewer comments of this kind.”

Chinese content creator Li Ziqi recently announced that she is making a comeback three years after her past contract dispute with her business partners.

The vlogger, previously known as the number one Chinese YouTuber, shared a new video on Weibo and YouTube on 12 November, saying that she is returning to her 25.49 million fans and now 20.1 million subscribers.

In the caption of the video, titled “Carved lacquer with hidden flowers, carrying auspiciousness”, Li stated, “This lacquer video is four years late.​ The Chinese pronunciation of lacquer is the same as ‘qi’.”

“I named this lacquerware hidden flowers “Zi Qi Dong Lai (the coming auspiciousness). I look back and wipe away all the sorrow.​ I send this wish to everyone who sees the video, I miss you very much,” it read.

Li became the top Chinese online celebrity in 2016 with her short videos, which were mostly about rural life. However, in 2021, she stopped updating due to a legal conflict with the multi-channel network partner MCN.

Her last video was in July 2021, which described the process of making salt.

Many expressed happiness over her return, as it also marked the return of familiar faces that were often featured in her videos. One commenter wrote, “When the world needed her the most, she returned. Welcome back.”

Another expressed, “Tears of so many emotions are flowing. I am so glad to see you back on YouTube.”

Two years after she went MIA, Chinese vlogger Li Ziqi finally reappeared in a new video.

As reported on Sina, on 15 September, Li shared content about the farming culture as part of her role as the promotional ambassador for the Chinese Farmers Harvest Festival.

The video, in which she talks about farming and harvesting, also had Li saying that she will continue to bring more high-quality content in her own way.

“I will continue to share traditional farming culture and talk about the rural ways,” she added.

Li, who entered the Guinness World Records for “the most subscribers for a Chinese language channel on YouTube” in 2021 after several years of being a content creator, disappeared from view after she sued her content network Hangzhou Weinian.

It was revealed that Weinian had been making profits out of her brand to sell products while Li herself did not benefit from it since she does not hold any stake in the company.
