Ron Ng and Kelly Cheung have sparked romance rumours, after the actress introduced a new member of her family – a cat she has named Dongu.

On 26 June, the actress posted several photos of her and her cat, writing, “Let me introduce you to the new member of our family, a stray cat that can be held to sleep by hand. She found us at around 7 months old and I wonder how she ever survived the streets. Thank you for bringing so much joy and laughter into our lives.”

Netizens who looked at the cat quickly noted that it looked similar to a tabby Ron Ng was holding earlier in Zhuhai and brought back to Hong Kong. That one detail has now sparked rumours that the two of them may be more than friends.

It is noted that Ron had been romantically linked to Hana Kuk in the past, while Kelly and her long-time boyfriend Mark ended their eight-year relationship last year.

The two attracted attention by working together in “This City Never Sleeps,” with Kelly admitting that she was captivated by Ron’s charisma while filming the drama.

Rumours are rife that Kelly Cheung’s long-term relationship with boyfriend Mark Brunyez has come to an end.

As reported on Oriental Daily, the actress sparked the rumour after posting a cryptic message on social media that read, “An unexpected break from filming and I’m cherishing every quiet moment at home. This year brought some major personal changes. Finally taking time to settle into this new chapter and figure out who I am and what I truly need.”

“Change is not easy, but I believe everything is the best arrangement,” she added.

Further fuelling the rumour was a comment made by good friend Angel Chu that read, “No matter what, I’ll always be here for you. You’re loved, and you’re never alone. Can’t wait until you come back to Hong Kong so we can be together. Miss you.”

In addition to the post, netizens also noticed that the two have unfollowed each other on Instagram and that all of their photos together have been deleted.

The two had been together for eight years prior to the breakup rumours. In June last year, Kelly admitted that she was not mentally prepared to settle down and have children yet.

Anita Yuen, who recently announced her TV comeback with TVB’s “Imitation of Life” (aka “I Only Live Twice”), revealed that the script and one particular co-star were what drove her to the project.

The actress, who spoke about the said drama, shared that she had watched a lot of Kelly Cheung’s performances and had wanted to work with the said actress for some time now.

“This time, working with her, I found her very hardworking and easy to communicate with. Both on and off-camera, we had a pleasant collaboration,” she said.

Anita also sang praises for the producer and the director for willingly wanting to discuss the scenes with her and allowing her to keep the original idea of not seeking revenge and bring more depth to the character.

“There will also be some cases involved. I personally really enjoy watching suspense detective dramas,” she enthused.

In the upcoming drama, Anita plays Wan Man, head of a commercial espionage centre who helps Hui Yuet (Kelly) transform herself into a spy after she was unjustly imprisoned when her sister embezzled public funds.

Owen Cheung is the big individual winner at the TVB Anniversary Awards, as he not only brought home Best Actor but also Malaysia’s Favourite TVB Actor for his performance in “No Room for Crime”.

The actor, who accepted the award at the ceremony held at the Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau, even shouted “Heng Ong Huat!” as he accepted the accolade.

“Thank you to every Malaysian audience who voted for me. Apa khabar? I want to fly to Malaysia soon to eat your bak kut teh and prawn noodles to thank you!” he said.

“I once stood in the third row at the TVB Anniversary Ceremony and wondered when I would be able to stand on stage. When I played small roles in TV series, I also wondered when I could play big roles. It turns out there is hope and a future, as long as you want it!” he expressed.

Meanwhile, Kelly Cheung was named Malaysia’s Favourite TVB Actress for her performance in “Big Biz Duel” for the first time.

Thanking her mentors, she expressed, “I am very grateful that there are many superheroes around me who protect me and support me to get to where I am now. I know that I have many shortcomings, and I will continue to walk the path of an actor with a humble heart.”

Meanwhile, her drama was also named Malaysia’s Favourite TV Series.

Although Kelly Cheung and her boyfriend Mark have been together for seven years, the TVB actress admitted that she is still not yet ready to walk down the aisle with him.

As reported on Mingpao, the actress, who appeared at the recording of TVB’s “Partners’ Kitchen”, stated that unlike Mark, who wants to get married, she herself is not mentally prepared to settle down and have children.

“Right now, I am more keen on developing my career as an actress. I am going to star in the new drama, ‘ICAC Investigators 2024’, which will begin in early July,” she said.

Kelly will also be working on a comedy series at the end of July where she will play the role of a secret agent. “I often get laughed at in real life. This time, it’s my turn to be funny,” she enthused.

Sisley Choi and Kelly Cheung have recently dismissed rumours that the two of them are at odds with one another during the filming of their series, “Legal Mavericks 2020”.

As reported on Mingpao, the two stars, who appeared together at a promotional event of the said series, expressed their surprise upon being asked about the rumour.

Said Kelly, “You don’t have to prove your friendship. For me, friends are for life. You don’t have to always share photos of each other on social media to show that you are good friends.”

Asked if they are speaking to each other outside of promotional activities, Kelly said that Sisley was among her many friends who joined her on a river cruise during the Mid-Autumn Festival last month.

Sisley stated that she had known Kelly since 2013, but that they had never cooperated in a drama prior to this.

“We have always been good friends. I would love to film a travel show with Sisley in the future,” Kelly added.

Kelly Cheung has recently laughed off rumours that romantically linked fellow TVB artiste Crystal Fung to former TVB Chairman Dr. Charles Chan.

As reported on Mingpao, Kelly, who was previously accused of receiving Chan’s favour in the past, stated that people like her and Crystal do not need wealthy men to buy things for them as they are able to do that themselves.

It is noted that Crystal was recently accused of winning favours from the former TVB Chairman and living a luxurious lifestyle on his expense. She had since denied the rumours.

“Crystal works hard and has the ability to support herself. Girls don’t necessarily get things from men. Girls in this business have a great earning power,” said Kelly, in defence of her fellow artiste.

When asked if she herself was affected by the previous rumours linking her to Chan, Kelly stated that she treated it as a joke.

“I understand that it was just an entertainment news. It never affected me since it was never the fact. I have only met Charles Chan once or twice since I joined the company,” she said.

Kelly added that she also told her boyfriend about the rumours, adding with a laugh, “My boyfriend said that he himself is not rich, that’s why people were disappointed. He said he would try to become a wealthy man.”

The actor, who appeared on location with a cast on his left foot, revealed that he will continue filming his scenes with some changes – including filming all of his scenes only from the waist up. His action scenes will also be done by his body double.
