Julia Barretto’s mother Marjorie and aunt Claudine Barretto recently defended the young actress, following Dennis Padilla’s reaction to Julia’s recent interview with Karen Davila.

Julia is Dennis’ daughter with ex-wife Marjorie. He had taken offence when Julia shared in the interview that she couldn’t run to her own father when things are tough. Julia also added that she and her dad have not spoken in a while.

On 19 September, Marjorie posted a photo of her daughter on social media, and wrote, “Dearest Jul, I LOVE you with the kind of love that you can trust. Love that you can depend on, and the kind that will protect you and never betray you. Maybe you need to hear this today… I am so proud of you, Juli. I am so blessed to be able to call you my child.”

“Here we go again, back in our family bubble shutting off the noise outside. Only choosing to be grateful for the good things that is in front of us. Remember Jul, God is all knowing,” she added.

Meanwhile, Claudine also went on Instagram to ask Dennis to stop airing his grievances on social media.

“Have pity on your children. Please stop. Let’s talk,” she expressed.

Dennis earlier expressed how upset he was following Julia’s statement that she was not ready to fix their relationship as there had been so much pain over the years.

The comedian-actor stated that his children only know half the truth, and asked Karen to interview him as there are many errors in what Julia knows.

Julia Barretto recently dismissed speculations that her relationship with Gerald Anderson has ended.

In an interview with Karen Davila on her YouTube vlog, the actress stated that she is already used to rumours of their breakup as it would be reported almost every month.

“No, we haven’t broken up. I think that’s a sign that we’re really able to protect our relationship and keep it private,” she said.

It is noted that it was just recently that Gerald was romantically linked to his new co-star Kylie Padilla, though both parties have denied it.

Asked if she is confident that the actor will not break her heart, Julia stated that she would never go into a relationship with someone that she doesn’t trust.

“I do trust him and he shows me that every single day, there’s just no reason for me to doubt,” she added.

As for marriage, the actress stated that she is very secure in her relationship and has nothing to worry about. “The sense of security that I have, the sense of calm that I have. His kindness has really grounded me and has really motivated me to become a better person. He created such a safe and healthy environment in my life.”

Julia Barretto recently expressed, in her own way, that she has nothing to comment regarding rumours surrounding her boyfriend, Gerald Anderson.

The actress, who appeared at a press conference recently, was asked about the latest rumour, in which Gerald is romantically linked to his “Unravel” co-star, Kylie Padilla.

She said, “I’ve always been very private with my personal life. I think with everything that has happened before; I’ve learned to be protective of my personal life.”

She added, “So, I’d like to keep that as private as much as possible, and I’m just drawing that boundary between work and my personal life.”

It was last week that Kylie denied rumours linking her to her co-star Gerald via Twitter, which read, “Just to be clear. NONE OF IT IS TRUE. I’m not pregnant and I’m not dating anyone in the industry. This is the last time I am speaking on this.”

This is not the first time that Gerald has been linked to a female co-star, from Pia Wurtzbach to Julia Barretto herself, the latter whom he met filming the movie, “Between Maybes”.

Julia and Joshua first became a love team after working together in the 2016 movie, “Vince and Kath and James”. The two went on to collaborate in various projects soon after, including the teleserye “Ngayon at Kailanman” and movie “Love You To The Stars and Back”. Julia Barretto recently revealed that she hopes to one day continue her studies, after previously taking a time off after high school to focus on her acting career.

The actress, who spoke to the media to promote her new series, “The Seniors”, shared that one of her regrets was not being able to go to college.

“After I finished high school, I thought I was just going to take a gap year before doing college but you know, up until now, that’s still something that I wish to do. Education is such a valuable thing,” she shared.

“Next is college, I hope we can find that time,” she added.

And if there is one advice she would give to others, it was to never take a gap year.

“It’s going to be a gap forever,” she said with a laugh. “You’re lucky enough and blessed enough if you have it. If you have it, keep it,” she added, saying that people who have the opportunity to study should cherish it.

Although she is not keen on doing horror flicks, Julia Barretto recently admitted that she decided to try her hands on such genre for the sake of working with Brillante Mendoza.

The actress, who stars in the filmmaker’s new horror movie, “Bahay na Pula”, admitted to this to ABS-CBN recently, saying that she was keen on working with the award-winning director as well as being attracted to the beautiful story and history that were injected into the plot.

“The day before pitching, they told me Brillante wanted to pitch a project to me. I didn’t know the story yet. Zero clue, but it was a yes right away for me. I knew that right there and then,” she said.

“At the end of the day, it was trusting your director and trusting yourself. That’s the biggest factor why we did what we were supposed to do. It was all about growing, learning, trusting and believing. “It was really a fun time shooting and I was grateful for the friendships we were able to form, especially with the production and Direk Brillante. He was somebody we were able to hang out with even after shooting,” she said.

Julia also stated that she would love to work with Brillante again in the future.

Co-starring Xian Lim, “Bahay na Pula” revolves around a young couple who move into an old house without knowing the horrors hiding inside it.

After a 3-year hiatus, Julia Barretto is soon to return to primetime in a TV5 new series.

The actress, who was last seen on TV in the 2018 series, “Ngayon at Kailanman” will be playing the lead in TVB’s “‘Di Na Muli” as Yana, a woman who is able to know the lifespan of another person once she touches their hand.

“The story is very different. There are a lot of elements in the show that are different from what I’ve previously done. It’s exciting and challenging,” said the actress.

Julia stated that she has never portrayed such a character before, where she has a gift.

“My character is someone who has grown scared of getting close to other people and touching her loved ones because she doesn’t want to know when their life ends,” she added.

Bea Alonzo is not one to fall easy for a public apology, telling Noel Ferrer in an interview about her real thoughts about ex-boyfriend’s Gerald Anderson’s recent apology.

As reported on Cosmo, the actress, who sat down in a two-hour long interview on “Level Up Exclusives with Noel Ferrer”, was asked about Gerald’s interview with Boy Abunda in which he hopes that Bea will forgive him, to which she responded that it will be fake if she says that she has forgiven him a long time ago.

“It’s not about just forgiveness or asking for forgiveness. It’s about taking accountability and responsibility for your actions. I think that is all. I’m so happy right now I don’t want to go back to the past. I’ll leave it at that,” Bea shared.

She then added, “It’s as easy as apologising, forgiving, but what will you do after that?”

The actress, who is now dating actor Dominic Roque, on the other hand, described her new romance as “very easy”.

“We don’t prove anything. We don’t need validation from others. We also don’t need to prove to each other because we’ve been friends for a long time already. He’s not the young type of love, I can’t explain him. He tells me I make him happy and he really makes me happy,” Bea added.
