Johnny Huang and Wang Yuwen have denied rumours that they are now in a relationship.

The whole issue started after Chinese paparazzi Liu Dachui recently dropped a bombshell, teasing that he would reveal the current relationship status of a top celebrity couple, one who is a “post-90s generation” and the other a “post-95s generation.”

Soon after, he released a footage of Johnny and Wang on what looked like a late-night date, before the two went to a bar to party until late at night.

Notably, after the event, they left the scene side by side and returned to their hotel together in a car.

In response to the rumours, Johnny’s studio released a short statement, saying, “Thank you for your attention. The content circulating online is untrue; it was just a normal gathering among friends, and there is no need to overinterpret it.”

At the same time, Wang Yuwen’s side also issued a clarification, saying, “The online ‘revelation’ is untrue. It was just normal social interaction and company after a dinner with friends.”

They stressed that Johnny and Wang are just friends and ask for the fans to not think too much about it.

Johnny Huang has recently been named the first celebrity space tourist in China, after being selected as among the first Chinese tourists to travel to space.

The news was announced by the Beijing InterstellOr Manned Space Technology Co., Ltd., stating that the actor will be joining the first batch of China’s first commercial manned spacecraft, “Traveler 1” in 2028, and receive the exclusive identity as Traveller 009.

As to why Johnny was selected, the representative of InterstellOr stated that the actor is known for his tough guy image and has also starred in the sci-fi drama, “Sea of Dreams” related to aerospace, which are in line with their requirements.

In a statement released on Weibo, Johnny expressed, “I am honoured to become a space tourist, to personally travel to that cosmos aboard China’s own spacecraft, and I look forward to traversing the heavens and reaching the stars with fellow space travellers. Next stop, space.”

The actor and more than 20 others are scheduled to fly on CYZ-1 in 2028 on a suborbital mission, during which he will cross the Kármán line — the internationally recognised boundary of space— and view Earth from orbit.

Gina Jin (aka Jin Chen) has recently addressed rumours of her starring in a new drama opposite Johnny Huang, which many of her fans are not happy with and calling it “a bad project”.

In a livestream on 14 January, the actress spoke to her fans about the rumour, saying that they should not worry and just wait and see.

“I haven’t taken on any bad dramas, have I? They’re all pretty good. Even if they are bad, so what? If it’s not done well, couldn’t it be made worse anyway? Don’t worry,” she said.

Gina added that she doesn’t believe in the notion of a “bad project”.

“Once it comes to me, it’s a good project. When it gets to us, the luck turns good too. Don’t worry. Just trust my choices, okay?” she added.

It was reported that the two stars will be working on a 32-episode drama called “Ming Chuan You Zhi Xia,” adapted from the novel by Su Xing’an, “Unwilling to Quietly Like You”.

The rumours have sparked backlash from the fandoms of both actors, with Johnny’s fans demanding a change of female lead, while Gina’s fans believe that the drama is using her popularity to boost viewership.

Johnny Huang’s camp has recently denied allegations that the actor cheated and abused former partner Wang Yuxin.

As reported on Sohu, following recent allegations that surfaced five years after they ended their relationship that he secretly married and divorced Wang Yuxin, and that there was domestic violence involved, on 21 June, the actor’s studio posted a long statement denying all allegations.

“Regarding the rumours on the Internet, our studio makes the following statement:

1. Mr. Huang Jingyu and Ms. Wang Yuxin separated peacefully, and there were no online reports of “cheating”, “derailment” and “domestic violence”. They still get along as friends, and please don’t bother Ms. Wang Yuxin about this matter.

2. We would like to warn relevant entities to immediately delete and withdraw relevant false statements, and stop disseminating allegedly infringing content. Otherwise, our studio and Mr. Huang Jingyu will [take legal action].

3. I hope all netizens face the information on the Internet rationally, and don’t be misled by accounts with a marketing nature to spread obviously false statements. When carrying out any actions, we should respect the legal rights of others and abide by laws and regulations.”

Meanwhile, Wang Yuxin has also posted her own statement on Weibo, saying that none of her family members or assistants have ever spoken out against Johnny.

“We have always maintained a peaceful separation, easy to get together and easy to get along with each other. Please stop spreading false content,” she added.

Both Dilraba Dilmurat and Johnny Huang’s camps have blasted latest rumours which are saying that the actress is pregnant with Johnny’s baby.

On 9 February, a gossip blogger took to Weibo and posted a picture of Dilraba at the airport and stated that the actress could be giving birth sometime in October. He then reposted Johnny’s earlier birthday post on Weibo, and wrote, “Congratulations for the successful upgrade.”

It is noted that the photo of Dilraba was taken from the back.

Though the two have never confirmed dating rumours, they have been romantically linked to one another since starring in the 2020 series, “Love Designer”.

In a statement released on social media, Johnny’s agency said that they have handed the matter to their lawyers to collect evidence and prepare their lawsuits, adding that they will not tolerate defamation and slander.

Dilraba’s rep also echoed similar words, warning those who spread false rumours against the actress as well as the dissemination of her photos on social media.

Rumours of Dilraba’s pregnancy have been going around for months now, ever since she took a break from her acting work last year. Despite the actress already denying it and holding a livestream to prove that she is not pregnant, many still believe that she is indeed with a child.
