Jang Hyuk is set to make his directorial and writing debut with an upcoming action film titled, “Stop Stop Dark Cold”.

The news was confirmed by the actor himself, most known for movies and dramas like “Volcano High”, “The Swordsman”, and “Slave Hunters”, saying, “I am deeply committed to this project and eager to explore the future implications of technology through my artistic lens.

“I look forward to connecting with audiences worldwide,” he added.

The project will be a collaboration between Jang with Stars Collective and Stars Entertainment.

Stars Collective founder Peter Luo said: “Collaborating with Jang Hyuk is a privilege. His exceptional talents and innovative approach have already made significant impacts during the project’s early stages.”

It is currently in the script development phase. Production will begin in mid-2025.

Onscreen favourite Jang Hyuk and Jang Nara are set to work together again in their fourth drama, “Family”.

On 6 March, tvN posted several photos from the script reading session of the new series, which has Jang Hyuk playing a National Intelligence Service agent while Jang Nara plays his wife, who dreams of having the perfect family despite her own deep secret.

The drama will be helmed by producer Jang Jung-Do, most famous for “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim”.

Among other cast members include Chae Jung-An, Lee Soon-Jae, and Kim Kang-Min. It is slated for airing in April.

This will be Jang Hyuk and Jang Nara’s first drama in nine years, with their last project being the 2014’s MBC Drama Festival “Old Goodbye”.

The two were first united in the 2002 series, “The Success Story of a Bright Girl”, followed by the 2014’s “Fated to Love You”.
