Bella Astillah has been appointed as the new face of Nestlé La Cremeria, bringing her down-to-earth charm and vibrant personality to the beloved premium ice cream brand as it launches two exciting new flavours; Neapolitan Royale Stick and ChocoBerry Royale Pint.

The Malaysian actress-singer brings to life what the brand stands for – finding simple pleasures in the little things and embracing moments of self-reward. “For me, Nestlé La Cremeria is more than just ice cream; it’s a fulfilling little treat that lifts my spirits and reminds me to savour the moment,” said Bella.

April Wong, Business Executive Officer of Nestlé Ice Cream announced, “We’re thrilled to introduce two new flavours – Neapolitan Royale Stick and La Cremeria ChocoBerry Royale Pint . What’s more exciting, we welcome Bella Astillah to the Nestlé La Cremeria family. Her warmth and authenticity beautifully reflect our belief that everyone deserves a moment to celebrate themselves and savour life’s sweet pleasures.”

The new Nestlé La Cremeria Neapolitan Royale Stick is a thoughtfully crafted blend of smooth vanilla and strawberry ice cream, wrapped in a rich chocolate coating and topped with a delightful medley of crunchy pistachio nuts, tangy cranberries, and golden granola.

The Nestlé La Cremeria ChocoBerry Royale Pint swirls together rich, creamy chocolate and strawberry ice cream, elevated by a luscious drizzle of chocolate sauce and chocolate crispies for an added satisfying crunch.

Take pleasure seriously at Malaysia’s newly launched Magnum Mansion

“Luxurious. Interesting. Pleasure.” These are the three words each picked by local M-bassadors Amelia Henderson, Azira Shafinaz and Kittie Yiyi to describe the new ice cream unveiled at Magnum Mansion yesterday.

Magnum Mansion made its debut in Malaysia at Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall yesterday evening, and will be available from 10am to 10pm daily at the mall’s Blue Concourse up until Monday, 28 October 2019.

There are three chambers that make up the Magnum Mansion, curated by the aforementioned M-bassadors. We were among the lucky ones who got to check it out ahead of anyone else in Malaysia. We headed to the first chamber, curated by model-actress Amelia Henderson, where a 270-degree panoramic projection was set up to take visitors on a journey through every layer of the new Magnum Macadamia Salted Caramel.

“The first thing that you bite into is obviously the Belgian chocolate, where else would I take you to if not Belgium,” Amelia explained.

“And then you get the really rich cocoa in there, which reminded me of a rain forest which is so fitting because Magnum uses specifically sustainably-grown cacao. Following that, you taste the Australian Macadamia, which is so rich and delicious. And finally you get to the centre, the salted caramel. So that made me think of the sunset on a beach. So that was the journey that we try to take you guys on inside the room.”

Amelia Henderson wants everyone to really experience the new ice cream.

When we ask her for one word that best describes the ice cream, the cosmopolitan explorer was quick to answer: “Luxurious!”

“Because it’s a luxurious flavour,” she said, adding that since she often found it difficult to take a break, even just sitting down and having an ice cream at the end of the day is a good way for her to unwind.

Next, we entered the Azira Shafinaz-curated chamber. Since she’s part of the Malaysian girl group De Fam, it is only fitting that her chamber is music themed. Flooded in a funky, uplifting purple light, the chamber houses several headphones that visitors can put on (they’re clean, disinfected by the staff there after every use) to enjoy the playlist that the singer has put together.

“This is my music chamber, where I personally – inspired by my group actually – well, I love every moment working with them. With groups, I understand that we’re gonna have ups and downs but alhamdulillah, it only made us stronger and got us where we are today. That’s how I got inspired actually, like usually we’re gonna have a different feeling, maybe sad or happy. So there are four different moods [for the playlist]: love, sadness happy and celebration.”

Before we put on the headphone to enjoy the four tracks, we again asked Azira for one word to describe the new ice cream and she picked “interesting”.

“I don’t normally eat salted caramel, just chocolate or vanilla for cupcakes, but then in terms of ice cream, when they asked to try it for the first time, I was quite surprised that it didn’t taste that sweet. The salty taste helps balance it too.”

Last but not least, we visited designer Kittie Yi at her chamber, which, unsurprisingly, is a photobooth where visitors can snap memorable photos while wearing the “M-branded” suits she’s designed for Magnum Mansion.

“The clothes are inspired by the Magnum packaging. It’s maroon with the – if you realise, the packaging’s inner lining comes with gold-coloured logos, so you will see the logos on my baju (cloth) also. So basically, I created a collection to let people try this and they can feel the pleasure with me, take pleasure seriously with me,” she explained to us with a laugh.

While she debated between “delicious” or “pleasure”, in the end the designer went with the latter to describe the ice cream.

“The salty taste mixed with the sweetness of the chocolate; you feel the pleasure after you eat it.”

Looks like Kittie Yiyi is already lost in pleasure as
she imagines biting into a delicious Magnum ice cream.

These M-bassadors are definitely right in describing the new ice cream as each bite delivers rich cocoa notes with subtle nutty nuances and a hint of saltiness.

Other than getting to taste the ice cream and try out the chambers, visitors yesterday were also treated to a performance by local indie band FAZZ, who provided an upbeat ambience as everyone milled about with an ice cream (or two) in hand.

If you can’t make it to this weekend’s Magnum Mansion, don’t fret, it will be held for another weekend, albeit at a different location. It will head to 1 Utama Shopping Centre from 30 October to 3 November 2019. Just in time for a sweet Halloween treat!

Though started in 1978 in America, Ben & Jerry’s has only recently made it to the dessert market in Malaysia. How recent? Well, its first ever Scoop Shop in the country has just officially opened earlier this month. (Though, technically, it’s been in operation since 30 August 2019).

But like all good things, it’s worth the wait. So get your scooping utensil ready (a spoon, one might call it) and let’s check out what are the flavours that await you at the Scoop Shop!

Oh wait, before that, let’s find out where it’s located.

To find it, follow your nose. Just kidding, waze your way to Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall in Petaling Jaya, then head on over to the mall’s Central Avenue.

By the way, did you know that the shop offers biodegradable paper straws and wooden spoons to customers? You get to enjoy delicious ice-cold treats without harming the environment!

Also, if you spot cakes and muffins in the shop, that’s because Ben & Jerry’s in Malaysia has partnered with eat X dignity (a homegrown initiative that provides underprivileged students with entrepreneurial opportunities in the Food & Beverage industry) to create baked goods that will be made readily available at the Scoop Shop.

Alright, now we moo-ve along to the 16 available flavours in store. If you’re unsure of what to get, picking one the best-sellers is a safe bet: Cherry Garcia, Chocolate Fudge Brownie, Chunky Monkey, New York Super Fudge Chunk, Triple Caramel Chunk and Tonight Dough.

Any of the other ice cream flavours sound just as yummy, too. They are Chocolate Therapy, Coconut Seven Layer Bar, Coffee Coffee BuzzBuzzBuzz (sounds like someone on their ninth cup of coffee that day shouldn’t be getting though), Salted Caramel Blondie, Strawberry, Strawberry Cheesecake, Sweet Cream & Cookies, and Vanilla.

Then there are the sorbet choices, Berry Berry Extraordinary and Lemon Sorbet.

Since the names are pretty explanatory, you don’t need to ask much before ordering unless you’d like to know more of the ingredients in them.
