Although there has been no official announcement, Scottish actor Graham McTavish recently confirmed that he has been cast in HBO’s upcoming fantasy series, “House of the Dragon”.

The actor, most known for his role as war chieftain Dougal Mackenzie in “Outlander”, admitted this in an interview with UK fashion magazine Stylist after sources spotted him on set of the said show in full costume.

“I’m enjoying that, yes. I’m really having a lot of fun,” he said, regarding his involvement. “We’ve just started. It’s a very big project, so we’re getting to know each other. They’re lovely people. It’s great, but I can’t tell you too much. I can’t tell you really anything about the story! But it involves a lot of dragons.”

Although McTavish has to keep mum about his role in the series, many speculated that he could either be playing Harrold Westerling – the Lord Commander of the Kingsguard under the Targaryen’s rule; or Lyonel Strong – Lord of Harrenhal and the head of House Strong.

The actor, whose filmographies include “The Hobbit” franchise, “Aquaman” and “Creed” joins the growing ensemble that now includes Eve Best, Paddy Considine, Fabien Frankel, and Sonoya Mizuno.
