Fellow artist Heini has called for public understanding regarding Faye Wong’s recent performance at the CCTV Spring Festival Gala, where the songstress faced criticism over alleged lip-syncing during “What the World Gifted Me.”

Speaking in Faye’s defence, Heini suggested the emotional nature of the performance might be connected to personal losses. Faye appeared particularly moved while singing the lyrics, “Those who have gone far away, may they all rest in peace.”

Heini reminded netizens that Faye’s immediate family now consists solely of her two children, Leah Dou and Li Yan from previous marriages, following the passing of her mother over two decades ago and the more recent deaths of her father and brother.

Footage emerged showing Faye leaving the stage after the broadcast, wrapped in a thick blanket and requiring assistance from two people as she departed backstage, appearing visibly exhausted.

The performance marked Faye’s first appearance on the CCTV stage in seven years.

Faye Wong’s camp has recently dismissed rumours that the singer will be holding a concert this year.

As reported on Mingpao, on 23 July, her manager Katie Chan issued a statement to clarify the rumours, which sparked after the singer was seen having dinner at the home of good friend and director Chiu Li-kwan.  

“To Faye Wong’s fans and friends,” the statement read, “The recent rumours that Faye Wong has decided to hold a concert this year are false. Faye Wong has no plans to hold any form of concert for the time being. Please protect your rights and interests to avoid being deceived.”

Katie also stated that they reserve the right to pursue legal action, and if anyone makes random reports or causes others to be deceived due to the influence of false information, they will be pursued to the end.

Earlier, it was rumoured that Faye will be holding her concert at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai. The management of the said venue had since dismissed the rumours as well, reminding fans not to fall victim to false information.

Wang Leehom’s rep has released a statement denying that a recent supposedly lewd video of four people shared by a tabloid involved the singer.

As reported on NetEase on 15 July, the singer’s management stated that Leehom has entrusted a lawyer to deal with the incident, and that they have begun collecting evidence and preparing for a lawsuit.

The company also added that they have zero tolerance on malicious rumours.

Earlier, a Taiwanese tabloid shared a supposed eight-minute private video, and accused Leehom of being involved with Vivian Hsu, Christine Fan and Blackie Chen. They also claimed that the source of the news was Leehom’s ex-wife Lee Jinglei.

However, netizens were sceptical of the reports, seeing that the video was too blurry, and that Jinglei herself has previously stated on social media that Leehom had no relationship with the aforementioned names “as far as I know”.

At the same time, the publication was also known to have posted articles that have been proven false, including news about Nicholas Tse and Faye Wong’s breakup.

Nicholas Tse has slammed rumours that he and long-time girlfriend Faye Wong have called it quits on their relationship.

As reported on Oriental Daily, on 12 July, several tabloids alleged that the couple have secretly broken up after nine years of romance. It claimed that the two have decided to part ways separately after realising that they are not suitable for each other.

While Nic and Faye would usually keep mum regarding their relationship, the actor seemed unamused by the latest rumour and decided to refute it himself, telling the media, “Stop making trouble with the two of us, okay? Go away!”

It is noted that the couple had dated in the late ’90s but broke up in 2002. Nic, who is 11 years younger than the songstress, went on to marry Cecilia Cheung four years later and welcomed two children together, while Faye tied the knot with actor-businessman Li Yapeng.

However, following Nic’s divorce in 2011 and Faye later in 2013, the two began dating again in 2014.

Faye Wong’s ex-husband and former actor Li Yapeng recently announced that he is now married and has welcomed a new child with his new wife.

Several months following rumours that he is expecting a child with Nuosu model Haiha Jinxi, who is 19 years his junior, the 50-year-old businessman shared a video on Weibo, in which he revealed that he has tied the knot with the model and beauty queen. Jinxi was China’s Miss Tourism Queen in 2006 and a finalist at Miss China World in 2011.

In the same video, Li also revealed that the two have already welcomed their child.

It was early this month that Li was spotted at a medical centre with a heavily pregnant Jinxi, though he made no comments about it when asked by the media.

Li, who has starred in several TV series including CCTV’s “The Legend of the Condor Heroes” (2003) before retiring from showbiz in 2010, was most known for his marriage to songstress Faye Wong. The couple are also parents to young model, Li Yan.

However, the couple announced their divorce in 2013 after eight years of marriage.
