Amid the many allegations of misconduct in the Taiwanese entertainment industry, actor Chris Wu aka Wu Kang-Ren recently took to social media to express his thought about it.

Sharing a short clip of a static TV on his Facebook, the actor wrote, “Over the past few days, the muddy thoughts are probably like the pictures on TV… The signal is short-circuited… Maybe the magnetic field is too weak… We should care about it and discuss it hotly, but our focus on the event itself is limited, driven by curiosity, it is easy to get sidetracked, and gossip instead.”

Chris stated that he is worried that these issues will be forgotten later, when what one should be concerned is the situation of the victims.

“When will sex education be implemented? How to spread the courage to say no? The balance between public criticism and the rule of law, the distance between us and evil, how to heal the wound. When ‘metoo’ becomes ‘youtoo’, empathy becomes an urban legend that has nothing to do with us… It’s really a pity… It’s a pity for them who took the courage to share it,” he added.

He also added several hashtags that include “We should all work hard to reform for the one we love” and “We should all work hard and be brave for those who love us”.

It was extremely surprising to see Wu Kangren (also known as Chris Wu) looking so much thinner than he originally was in preparation for his new movie, “Abang Adik”.

The Taiwanese actor, who spoke to the media in a press conference about the upcoming movie, shared that he actually made sure to tan his skin and lose about 10kg to play a much more convincing local.

“I was moved after reading the script last year, and would often imagine some of the scenes. If I went to Malaysia to play this role, what would be the effect?” he said.

After confirming the schedule, Kangren said that he decided to come to Malaysia in early May just to experience the environment in the country to further understand his character, adding that he would also go to the market with co-star Jack Tan.

Asked more about his weight loss and his decision to go all out on it, Kangren said, “I don’t really want to talk about it. I have the honour of participating in a Malaysian production, so I want to give enough respect and not let people think that I am here to play around.”

As for working with producer Angelica Lee, Kangren couldn’t help but sing praises for her, saying that he has never seen a producer who followed almost 70 to 80 percent of filming schedule.

“For a 30 day of filming, she was on the scene for about 20 of them,” he added.

Although she will be reunited with her former rumoured boyfriend Chris Wu, Jade Chou stated that they are professional enough to play a couple in the new Taiwanese drama, “Ren Fu Yu Ai”.

As reported on China Times, the actress, whose return would mark her first in five years since her hiatus to focus on her family life, stated that she is more worried about giving her best performance for her role instead of who would be her co-star.

Asked if her actor husband Blue Lan has any issue of her working with Chris, Jade responded, “The only thing he worries about is if I would bring the character home. He read the script and asked me if I was certain about taking this kind of role and feeling the pressure. I just have to work hard to find balance.”

However, Jade admitted that it was her husband who first told her about the project, and that they decided to cooperate with one another so that she could work without having to worry about their kids.

In the upcoming drama, Jade plays a woman who has been living together with her partner for ten years.

“My character is someone who loves to the extreme, to love someone so hard that the other person cannot breath. The role is very three-dimensional, very challenging, and each scene is very emotional,” she said.

On the other hand, Chris admitted that it was easy for him to work with Jade, adding that unlike with his other co-star Michelle Chen whom he needed to take a tango dance course to cultivate their chemistry, the two of them are already acquainted enough to develop similar rapport.

Several days after he was sent to the emergency ward for a fever caused by tonsil inflammation, Taiwanese actor Chris Wu (Wu Kang-ren) is finally back to work again.

As reported on Epoch Times, the actor, who appeared at the press conference for his new drama recently, admitted that he was originally advised to stay in the hospital for a week, but decided to get discharge on the same morning as the press conference so that he could make an appearance.

“I’ve had this condition ten years ago, but this time, it came all of a sudden. I didn’t want to go to the hospital for medical treatment, so I decided to tough it out at home. But the fever persisted,” he said.

It was only after experiencing swallowing and breathing difficulties that he decided to go and get the medical assistance that he needed.

“It was lucky that the problem was not that serious. I really do urge people to go and see the doctor if your tonsils are inflamed. If it becomes serious, then you have to undergo tracheotomy. It was a close call for me,” he added.

Chris previously revealed his condition in a Facebook post in which he called himself a “weak chicken” for succumbing to a fever.

On the other hand, the new drama, “Ren Fu Yu Ai”, which is based on the Hou Wen-yong novel of the same name, will also star Michelle Chen in her first drama in eight years.

Fans couldn’t help but laugh after Chris Wu (Wu Kang-ren) decided to criticise himself for getting himself admitted to hospital for what he deemed a normal illness.

On 20 April, the Taiwanese actor posted a photo of his hand as he laid in bed in a hospital ward, and wrote, “I have been acting for more than ten years. Every time there is a hospital scene, the name on the patient wristband would be the character’s name. This is the first time that I am wearing one with my name on it.”

Chris revealed that he had an acute tonsil inflammation, and experienced difficulty swallowing, fever, cold, and weakness among other symptoms. After three days of popping antibiotics to no avail, the actor stated that he had to be sent to the emergency ward.

Taiwanese actor Wu Kang-jen (also known as Chris Wu) recently admitted that he really enjoyed filming his first Hong Kong movie alongside Charlene Choi.

As reported on Mingpao, the actor, who co-stars in “The Lady Improper” alongside the singer, said that working in the production is akin to having a vacation.

“Everybody was nice to me – Charlene, the director, the producer, the crew, everyone. It was a really fun experience,” he said.

Wu said that while there was not much difference in the making of a movie in Hong Kong and Taiwan, he did feel like a stranger at first because of the difference in dialect and environment.

“I seemed to develop a new identity while working on the project. I stayed in To Kwa Wan throughout production and I really like the culture and the aura. It’s really fortunate that I get to work in this movie and connect with the local culture,” he said.

In the movie, Wu plays the role of Chia-hao, a Cordon Bleu chef who plays a big role in changing the life of Siu Man (Charlene Choi), who has to tackle her fear of intimacy head-on.
