Yuehua Entertainment has recently dismissed the notion that one of their two stars Cheng Xiao and Wu Xuanyi might be the person accused of acting like a big shot by netizens recently.

As reported on Seehua, a netizen recently took to social media alleging that a Chinese female star was acting like a diva by asking people inside a lift at an airport to get out so that she can use it.

The netizen stated that she was taking the lift at an airport to the fourth floor, but that when the door was opened on the first floor, she saw many people surrounding a woman with their phones and cameras out to take pictures.

The said female star was also trying to get into the lift, but that her bodyguard asked everybody inside to get out first so that the celebrity can get in.

The netizen said that the people who were already inside the lift were unhappy with this, with some asking who the celebrity is and why is she so important. This has sparked speculations among many people, with some pointing fingers at either WJSN’s Cheng Xiao or her group mate, Wu Xuanyi.

In response to the allegations, on 12 June, Yuehua Entertainment released a statement denying the claim, saying, “After multiple confirmations, we have determined that the news was false speculation and the bodyguards were not members of the artistes’ team. It was false information and we hope that the outside world would correct it.”

A video recently went viral of director Guo Jingming reprimanding idol singer Cheng Xiao on the set of his new drama, “The Story of Mystics” (also known as “Fangs of Fortune”).

As reported on Sohu, the clip that had since been circulating social media platforms saw Guo scolding the former WJSN member for not moving fast enough as she returned to her RV to get a change of clothes.

Speaking to Cheng’s assistant, Guo was heard saying, “Is she the director? Who do you listen to?”

He then turned to Cheng and said, “Chen Duling had a scene where she was soaked in water for a whole day in Xiangshan without changing clothes. If you can’t stand pain, you might as well go back and be an idol and ride in your Rolls Royce. Being an actor is hard work!”

According to some sources who were at the scene, Cheng Xiao’s headband reportedly fell apart during filming and that she wanted to go back to the dressing room to tidy up, but did not communicate to Guo clearly about it.

Netizens who saw the video have mixed reaction, with some supporting Guo and said that it’s natural for a director to be angry if an artiste delays production just to change their clothes, while others saying that Guo did not need to be so harsh against Cheng Xiao.

A new rumour linking her to Tony Leung Chiu Wai seemed to have drawn the ire of mainland singer Cheng Xiao.

As reported on Mingpao, the singer, who was a former member of the South Korean-Chinese group WSJN, was alleged by the tabloids to have been having an affair with the married Hong Kong star.

The article, titled “Tony Leung welcomed illegitimate child in Japan and angered Carina Lau”, alleged that the “Shang-Chi” star had been seeing Cheng Xiao and that she has given birth to his baby. It also alleged that he also bought her a property in Japan.

In response to the gossip, Cheng Xiao’s studio shared a screenshot of the article and added the word “Fake” in big red characters. It also added in the caption, “It’s outrageously false!!”

Her fans also dug up several photos showing her itinerary for this year, with one saying that the singer had been participating in various shows, including those that include dance.

“She is dancing on the show all the time. There is no chance that she was pregnant,” one netizen stated.

One also joked that it is more believable to say that it was Cheng Xiao who is Tony’s illegitimate child, seeing the 36-year age gap they have.
