It was revealed that EXO’s Chen is set to perform in Malaysia as part of his Arcadia Chen Concert tour.

The singer unveiled the schedule on 17 December, revealing that he will be performing in Kuala Lumpur on 29 March of next year. However, no venue has been announced at the time being.

Prior to Kuala Lumpur, Chen, real name Kim Jong-dae, will be performing in Taipei on 3 January, Yokohama on 25 January, and Jakarta on 31 January, followed by Manila on 28 February, and Macao on 8 March.

Malaysian fans can expect a full-scale concert experience that will feature Chen’s hit songs, as well as his tracks from the “Arcadia” mini-album, and many other quality productions.

K-pop sensation and EXO member Kim Jong-Dae, better known as Chen, dazzled Malaysian fans at his first solo concert “2024 CHEN FAN-CON ‘Beyond the DOOR'” at Kuala Lumpur’s Mega Star Arena on 8 November.

The excitement began even before the show, as thousands of devoted EXO-L received heartfelt gifts – two cherished photo cards of Chen and a special hand banner bearing the touching lyrics of “Fall In Love Again” alongside the words ‘You Are My Home.’

As the clock struck 8 PM, the venue erupted in thunderous applause and a sea of Eribong light sticks as Chen took the stage, opening the night with his enchanting rendition of “Empty.” The melodious-voiced idol continued to captivate hearts with soul-stirring performances of “Dandelion,” “Remember,” and “I Don’t Even Mind.”

The atmosphere turned playful during the ‘Chen-llenge’ segment, where the singer attempted to guess EXO song lyrics. Much to fans’ delight, Chen’s endearing personality shone through as he cheerfully accepted his penalties, donning alien and dinosaur costumes when he failed the challenges.

Ever the professional, he continued to charm the audience by performing “Playlist,” “Fall In Love Again,” and “Hold You Tight” while still wearing the dinosaur costume!

After treating fans to an intimate video interlude where he shared his musical journey and songwriting process, Chen returned to deliver more magical moments. The crowd was moved by his heartfelt performances of “Beautiful Goodbye” and “Love You,” which he dedicated to his loyal fans who have steadfastly supported both him and EXO.

The enchantment continued with “Don’t Remember” and “Shall We?,” before reaching a breathtaking peak during “Starlight,” where the Mega Star Arena transformed into a celestial landscape illuminated by fans’ yellow star-shaped lights.

The night wasn’t over yet – responding to passionate encore chants, Chen returned to the stage for a grand finale. He performed the beloved “Everytime,” known for its feature in the hit Korean drama “Descendants Of The Sun,” before closing the unforgettable evening with “Best Luck.”

Though the magical two hours seemed to fly by, Chen left his Malaysian fans with a promise to return alongside his EXO members for future concerts.

The spectacular show, presented by IMC Live Global, proved to be an intimate celebration of music and connection between the artist and his devoted fans.

EXO’s Baekhyun, Xiumin and Chen are set to terminate their contracts with SM Entertainment.

In a statement released by their legal representative on 1 June, the three accused the agency of refusing to provide documents for the sake of transparency regarding their settlements.

“From March 21st to the present, we sent a certification of contents to SM Entertainment seven times, and through this, we repeatedly requested copies of transparent settlement data and settlement grounds. However, SM was unable to provide copies of the data, stating that such data cannot be shared,” said their attorney Lee Jae-Hak.

Lee continued, “We have come to inform SM that we are terminating our existing exclusive contracts as of today, June 1st. SM is trying to claim a contract period of at least 17 or 18 years, respectively, by having the artists sign on subsequent exclusive contracts, as the 12 or 13 year contract period is not enough. It is an extremely unfair tyranny over and over again.”

It is noted that the standard contract period for idol groups are usually seven years, with the artists having the right to terminate if it surpasses the said period.

Baekhyun, Xiumin and Chen are three of the nine-member EXO, which made their debut under SM Entertainment in 2012.
