Millennium British boy band Blue is making their way to Malaysia for their upcoming 20th anniversary tour.

The group, consisting of Antony Costa, Simon Webbe, Duncan James and Lee Ryan, shared the good news on social media with a poster of the upcoming show, revealing that the concert will be held at the Plenary Hall, KLCC as part of their 20th Anniversary Heart & Soul Tour.

“Malaysia here we come! We are coming to you on the 10th of February as part of our Heart & Soul Tour in Asia! Don’t miss this one!” the caption read.

Malaysia, here we come!

On the other hand, organiser Hitman Solutions stated that they are elated to be bringing the quartet back to Malaysia through this large-scale performance.

“On the night of the concert, we expect the audience to together sing hit songs such as All Rise, One Love, If You Come Back and many more, in addition to recalling the days of romance in the youth,” said Hitman head, Rohit Rampal.

Blue gets fans to “All Rise” at Malaysian concert

Blue’s recent sold out concert in KL got off to a chuckle-worthy confusing start. The English boyband famous for their song “All Rise” wanted their fans to do exactly that but the security guards kept telling fans to sit back down, resulting in quite a conundrum for fans – listen to the burly guards or enjoy dancing along with their favourite band?

In the end, Blue’s commands prevailed (after having to repeatedly tell fans after each performance to get their money’s worth from the concert by enjoying it fully), they successfully got their fans standing up and dancing throughout the concert.

It must have been quite a baffling sight for the quartet to see their fans just sitting down docilely (again, security’s order), occasionally singing along very loudly to the mash-up of ‘90s hits, during Malaysian DJ Jakeman’s roughly 40-minute opening set before they came on stage.

Lee Ryan, Antony Costa, Simon Webbe and Duncan James opened their “Live in Malaysia 2019” concert with “Sorry”, followed by “Bubblin’” and “Fly By”.

After Simon convinced fans to get back up on their feet (this was when security was still under instruction to actively tell everyone to sit down), the band continued with “Too Close (Acapella End)”, “If You Come Back” and “Hurt Lovers”.

During his turn to address the 2,400-strong crowd, Lee said that it was good to be back in Malaysia, where he and Duncan got plenty of tattoos from and in fact, where got his first tattoo done, right between his shoulder blades (Duncan jokingly asked him to show the one on his bottom).

“We promise, if you keep supporting us, we will come back again,” said Lee. The last time the band performed a concert in Malaysia was about 16 years ago.

Continuing the show, the band sang “U Make Me Wanna”, “I Can” and – after Duncan took the time to make Antony hold his mic while he took off his jacket to get ready for their next performance – “Paradise”, “Flexin’” as well as “Guilty”.

“We’ve been Blue and you’ve been great!” said Antony as the band continued with “We’ve Got Tonight”, “Curtain Falls” and “Breathe Easy”.

The 80-minute concert was drawing to an end, the band performed “One Love” and “Best in Me”, then waved goodbye to their fans before leaving the stage.

Of course, there was one hit song they didn’t perform and as expected, they closed the show with it during their encore.

Hearing fans’ roaring chants of “We want more!” reverberating throughout the halls, the quartet came back on stage to perform “All Rise” as their encore song before bidding their fans farewell – for real this time.

TheHIVE.Asia — Fri, 15 Feb 2019 00:21:00 +0000

English boyband Blue is making their way to Kuala Lumpur next month for their concert “Blue Live in Malaysia 2019”.

To be held on 3 March at Dewan Wawasan Convention & Exhibition Centre in Menara PGRM, Cheras, tickets for the concert have been selling like hot cakes and to date, three categories have already sold out.

VVIP tickets, which are priced at RM598 each and come with a Meet & Greet session (inclusive of group photograph with the boyband before the concert), are one of the sold out categories.

The other two sold out categories are Cat 3 and Cat 4 tickets, priced at RM158 and RM98, respectively.

A closer look at the sold out categories.

The info was revealed during a press conference held earlier today at Hotel Pavilion KL, where organisers KC & Friends Sdn Bhd and TerryandTheCuz Sdn Bhd also confirmed that all four members will be performing at the concert.

So for fans who want to see Antony Costa, Duncan James, Lee Ryan and Simon Webbe live in person but haven’t gotten their tickets yet, they’re going to have to act fast.

and Karina Grewal (TerryandThe Cuz) at the press conference, where they revealed
that they’ve been working on bringing Blue to Malaysia since last year.

Taking into consideration that most of Blue fans would likely be parents by now, children aged 7-year-old and above are also welcome to attend the concert.

Malaysia’s own Jakeman will be the opening act, hyping up the crowd with his mixes before Blue takes the stage.

Since this concert is also held in celebration of the boyband’s 20th anniversary, the duration will be longer than their standard concert set list as it is expected to run for 60 to 75 minutes.

It’s also a very special concert for Malaysians as this is the first time in about 16 years that the boyband is holding a public concert in the country, they’ve only been visiting for private events after their last public show here.
