Eventhough she didn’t end up winning Best Actress at the recently held Golden Horse Awards, Jennifer Yu is not at all saddened by the fact that she lost to 12-year-old actress Audrey Lin.

The actress, who attended a Christmas event in Causeway Bay following her trip to Taiwan earlier, shared that she was not disappointed despite her movie “In Broad Daylight” failed to win any of the categories it was nominated in, including Best Actress, as she had a great time at the event.

“I enjoyed the atmosphere of the award ceremony, and getting to know the filmmakers while I was there. The trip itself was very meaningful to me,” she said.

Speaking about Audrey, who won for her performance in “Trouble Girl”, Jennifer said that she is happy to see the young starlet win the award.

“I think she is very cool. I hope that my daughter will be as good as her in the future. My daughter also has the desire to perform. She loves singing and acting,” she said.

Meanwhile, when asked if she has plans to have another baby after having her daughter and her son, Jennifer said, “No. I am now very happy with what we have. My husband and I have reached a consensus.”

If there is one thing Ang Lee wants for 12-year-old Best Actress winner Audrey Lin, that would be for the young starlet to focus on her studies for the time being.

As reported on Oriental Daily, the filmmaker, who is also the chairman of the jury for this year’s Golden Horse Awards, recently shared with the media about how they selected the winners, revealing that Audrey had already won the jury’s heart in the first round of selection.

“She really is a genius, but I hope that she will film fewer movies in the future and focus on her studies. [Qin Dynasty’s] Gan Luo became the Minister at the age of 12 but unfortunately died young,” he said.

Ang added that Audrey’s performance was the best this time, and that he hopes her growth and development will be sound in the future. He also stressed that her acting skills do not need to be honed too early, and that she has a lot of time to do so.

Audrey became the youngest actress to win the accolade of Best Actress at the recently held Golden Horse Awards, surpassing Li Xiaolu, who previously won at the age of 16.

Young actress Audrey Lin has now become the youngest star to win Best Actress at the Golden Horse Awards.

As reported on Oriental Daily, the actress recently picked up her very first Golden Horse accolade for her performance in Chin Chia-hua’s “Trouble Girl”, besting contenders that include Hong Kong actresses Jennifer Yu and Chung Suet Ying, mainland veteran Hu Ling, as well as fellow Taiwanese actress, Lu Hsiao-fen.

“Thank you, Golden Horse Awards, for giving me this recognition,” said Audrey in her speech. “Thank you for this role. It’s not easy for people like Hsiao Hsiao. I hope everyone stays kind and things will get better and better.”

The name Hsiao Hsiao refers to her character in the movie, a schoolgirl whose relationship with her mother becomes even more fragile after she discovers that her mother is having an affair with her teacher.

At 12 years of age, Audrey, who won attention at the age of 10 when she starred in “American Girl”, surpassed Li Xiaolu, who won a Golden Horse Best Actress award at the age of 16 for “Xiu Xiu: The Sent Down Girl”.
