Hong Kong pop-rock band Dear Jane, who rose to fame with hit songs like “What Happened” and “Stop Here,” has officially launched their 20th anniversary world tour, “Dearest Dear Jane Live 2026” and the members are now coming to Malaysia.

The band will be performing in Kuala Lumpur on 13 September, marking their first performance in Kuala Lumpur in nearly 20 years, finally giving Malaysian fans who have been waiting for years the chance to meet their idols up close!

Formed in 2006, Dear Jane consists of Tim Wong (lead vocalist), Jackal Ng (bass), Howie Yung (guitar/vocals) and Nice Lai (drums). From underground bands to performing at the Hong Kong Coliseum, from street shows to stadiums with tens of thousands of seats, Dear Jane has proven over nearly two decades that sincere emotion and solid arrangements are always the most powerful weapons to touch people’s hearts.

The concert’s theme, “Dearest,” originates from Dear Jane’s view of each performance as a handwritten letter to their audience, using notes instead of words and melodies to convey warmth. The Kuala Lumpur stop will showcase the essence of Dear Jane’s creations over the years.

The “Dearest Dear Jane Live 2026” concert in Kuala Lumpur will be held on Sunday, 13 September at 7.30 PM at ZEPP KL. Tickets are priced at RM6288 (box, for 8 pax), RM788, and RM588, excluding ticketing fees. Tickets will go on sale on 24 July at 11.00 AM.

Wanting Qu recently opened up about her past struggle with breast cancer, admitting that it was the reason that she had been away from the limelight.

On 18 July, the singer-songwriter shared a series of posts on Instagram, writing, “I’ve held my tongue for so long, waiting for the right moment to share my story. Today, I’m opening up – hoping it can help someone who needs it. Please be kind. Wish everyone a beautiful day.”

In the series of photos shared in the post, she revealed that her mother’s imprisonment for crimes that she maintained she was innocent of in 2014 really broke her, and that she went from the highest point of her career to a placer “darker than I ever imagined.”

“Then at 36 years old, I was diagnosed with breast cancer in April 2020. The cancer was invasive and I needed to have surgery immediately. I entered survival mode and did everything I could to fight for my life. For a brief moment, I felt angry at the world and sorry for myself,” she admitted.

However, Wanting said that it quickly turned into action, with her focusing on what she could do to heal.

“The hardest decision of my life was choosing between keeping the appearance of my left breast or letting her go to protect my future health. I chose health over aesthetics and underwent a single mastectomy with fat closure,” she said, adding that she even cut her hair short to mark her battle with breast cancer.

Wanting said that she has been cancer-free for six years now, and is now in a relationship with her boyfriend River.

“I love the person I’ve become today. I’m grateful for all the struggles, suffering, and pain I’ve been through, because they’ve given me a bigger heart – to love harder, care deeper, and give back more. I choose to love everyone, friends or foes. We all deserve love. Sending love to everyone,” she added.

Finally, Wanting announced that she is releasing her new album, “Love Letter,” saying that it is specially dedicated to her supportive fans.

Bai Lu recently announced that she is now no longer with Huanyu Entertainment.

The actress shared the news on 16 July, revealing that the two parties have mutually ended their cooperation after 10 years, and that she is thankful to the company for all the training they have given her through the decade.

She also specifically thanked producer Yu Zheng for his help, describing him as family who is “supportive of me and wanting me to do my best”.

It is noted that Bai Lu has starred in more than 15 dramas produced by Huanyu through the support of Yu Zheng, including “Story of Kunning Palace” and “Moonlight Mystique”.

Following the announcement, Yu Zheng responded generously and offered his blessings, describing the actress’ departure upon contract expiration as “like marrying off a daughter.” He emphasised that “expiration does not mean severing ties,” even stating that he would be there for Bai Lu whenever she needed him.

Now that she is in full health, Landy Wen announced that she is coming back to the stage.

The singer shared the good news on social media following her 47th birthday with a photo of her making a wish in front of her birthday cake.

She started her post with, “After experiencing a wonderful and fortunate journey through life, I especially want to express my gratitude on my birthday to my family and colleagues who have always been there for me, to the Taipei Medical University Hospital for their meticulous care, and to all my friends who have shown their concern and best wishes. Thank you so much! Finally, happy birthday to me!”

She then announced that she is making her return to the stage after summer vacation, with the first show taking place on 29 August at the 2026 Taiwan East Coast Land Arts Festival & Moonlit Sea Concert in Taitung.

She will then travel to Singapore for a show on 19 September at Resorts World Sentosa, followed by her mainland China tour, scheduled for December.

It was back in early June that Landy was discharged from hospital after a near death experience with septic shock.

Show Lo has recently addressed allegations that he was one of the reasons why “The Mermaid 2” has delayed its release indefinitely.

The release of Stephen Chow’s “Kung Fu Soccer” recently has again brought back discussion on the topic of the comedy auteur’s film, “The Mermaid 2,” which is the sequel of his hit 2016 film that marked the debut of actress Lin Yun.

It was alleged that the movie was supposed to release in 2020, but that it was delayed due to the negative controversies surrounding its two actors, Kris Wu and Show Lo. It was alleged that scenes of the two together comprise approximately one-third of the entire film, leaving a significant amount of footage unusable.

According to mainland media reports, Stephen had to bring in a different actor to urgently join the crew for reshoots and readjust the story’s direction, rewriting the script 11 times. It was also reported that it led to the movie being shelved.

In response to the new rumours, Show, who played the role of Octopus in the original film, personally clarified on Facebook with a simple statement.

Sharing screenshots of reports about the rumour, he wrote, “Hear ye, hear ye! I did not act in ‘The Mermaid 2.’ Thank you for your concern, media friends.”

Rumour has it that Haruna Kawaguchi and footballer Ko Itakura are now dating with marriage in mind.

As reported on Sponichi, the captain of the Japanese national team and the model-actress have supposedly informed their families and close associates and are currently coordinating a wedding date.

According to a source, the two dated for about a year and kept in touch via social media. Haruna reportedly would visit the footballer in the Netherlands sometimes, seeing that Ko plays for the Eredivisie club, Ajax.

The source also claimed that the two have decided to tie the knot after the World Cup.

Neither party’s management teams have responded to the reports at the time being.

Tao Xinran has recently dismissed rumours that she has a new man in her life.

As reported on NetEase, tabloids previously reported that the actress has quietly entered into a new relationship and is about to officially announce her not-available status. Speculations then began to form regarding this supposed new romance, prompting Tao to go on social media to deny it.

On 15 July, the “Legend of Zhen Huan” star screen-shot the fabricated reports on her Weibo and wrote, “Fake! Single! There’s unlikely to be any good news anytime soon, things are great right now!”

Tao, who had been married to actor He Jianze, announced their divorce back in March 2025.

She revealed that they had actually been separated for a while, but decided to keep mum to protect their daughter. However, she assured that the separation was mutual and was not caused by any third party.

“There is no melodramatic plot. Just you, me and the regret of drifting apart,” she posted.

Barbie Hsu’s mother Huang Chun-mei has recently slammed the media over reports that she is involved in any dispute regarding the late actress’ inheritance.

As reported on Sohu, it was previously rumoured that South Korean entertainer Koo Jun-yup has entered into mediation through his lawyer, supposedly to fight for his share in the inheritance.

The rumour came despite previous reports that Koo has given up any share in Barbie’s estate, and instead left it all to her two children.

Now, another claim was made that it was Huang who privately requested Koo to relinquish his shares and give it to her instead.

When asked about it, Huang denied it vehemently, and retorted, “Who said that? Nonsense! I’m half-dead. These rumours have nothing to do with me.”

“My precious child is gone, and I’ll soon be homeless. I won’t even see my grandchildren. Do you think these rumours still matter?” she added.

Meanwhile, Koo’s camp has not made any statement regarding the rumours concerning the inheritance dispute.

Doh Kyung-soo may be returning to TV with a zombie comedy.

It was reported that the actor is in talks to star in a new comedy drama titled “We Are the Zombie”.

On 16 July, an official from Blitzway Studio, the agency that manages Doh, stated, “It is one of the projects currently under review.”

“We Are the Zombie” is based on a webtoon and tells the story of the people who have been left inside a mall that has been closed off due to an unknown virus.

If Doh takes on the project, he will play the role of Kim In-jong, who is one of the few who are trapped inside the mall.

The actor was last seen on the small screen in the revenge action crime thriller, “The Manipulated”.

Gong Yoo will be going on a fan meeting tour!

The news was confirmed by his agency Management SOOP on 15 July, stating that the actor will be holding his first Asia fan meeting tour called “The Long Take,” 25 years after his debut.

Gong Yoo will be touring six cities, starting with Yokohama on 4 October, followed by Bangkok, Jakarta, Macau, Manila, and Seoul.

This is the first time he is going on an Asian fan meeting tour since his debut in the 2001 KBS 2TV drama, “School 4.”

In a letter written to fans on his birthday on 10 July, Gong Yoo said, “Thanks to all of you who have been with me for so long, I naturally came to look back on the time that has passed. This year, I have prepared a place to face that time in person and be with you together.”
