Not one to pay attention to gossip and rumours, Sun Li recently revealed that she taught her daughter to do the same when it comes to rumours about the family.

The actress, who appeared on iQiyi’s talk show “The Inner Journey,” shared that she has an ostrich mentality when it comes to gossip, meaning she ignores anything negative that comes her way.

“I don’t look at them. I have almost no social media on my phone,” she said, adding that she chose not to look so that she would not have to think about it.

Sun Li said she had to teach her daughter Xiao Hua to do the same after the girl was affected by a rumour about Sun Li and Deng Chao’s marriage not long ago.

She recounted receiving a call one day from Xiao Hua’s teacher, who said the then 12-year-old was very upset at school.

After the teacher questioned her, Xiao Hua finally revealed that her classmates had seen rumours online about Sun Li and Deng Chao’s supposed divorce and had asked her about it, which made her believe it was true.

She told her daughter, “The four of us eat together now, mum and dad are home every day, and we often go on trips together,” adding that she hopes her daughter understands that what’s said online isn’t necessarily credible and that it’s better to see the facts with her own eyes than to believe others.

She said that after their long talk, her daughter became completely immune to such false rumours.

Following his previous arrest, it was reported that Shuto Inomata will not be indicted for causing bodily injury to a female acquaintance.

The news was announced by STARTO Entertainment on 21 October via a statement that stated that the Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office decided not to indict the former timelesz member following previous investigations.

“Although the company has already terminated its exclusive contract with Mr Inomata, we once again sincerely apologise for the considerable inconvenience and concern caused to the person who was harmed, as well as to our fans, sponsors and all other parties concerned, in connection with the incident that occurred during his time with the company,” it added.

Shuto was arrested on 19 September on suspicion of punching a female acquaintance in the face and injuring her inside a car parked at a convenience store car park in Tokyo, the day prior.

It is believed that an out-of-court settlement was subsequently reached with the victim, and Shuto was released on 25 September without being formally charged.

However, the damage to his public image from the alleged violent incident has been severe. All commercials featuring him were taken offline, including those featuring the group as a whole. His contract with STARTO was also terminated on 30 September, with Japanese boy band timelesz now working as a seven-member group.

Lee Jin-uk is set to collaborate with Girls’ Generation’s Im Yoona in the Korean remake of “Unnatural”.

The news was announced by tvN on 22 October, stating that the actor will play Gu Seung-hyuk, a forensic pathologist, in the drama which is scheduled to premiere next year.

“Unnatural” is based on the Japanese drama of the same name, which aired on TBS in 2018. The story follows forensic pathologists working at the Unnatural Death Investigation Lab, a fictional autopsy and investigation institute, as they uncover the truth behind cases hidden within unnatural deaths.

The character Gu Seung-hyuk is described as an experienced pathologist with nearly 3,000 autopsies, a seasoned professional with a cool-headed personality who rarely reveals his emotions in front of others.

Meanwhile, Yoona will play the other lead character, Song Do-eun, who is also a forensic pathologist.

The original stars Satomi Ishihara, Masataka Kubota and Arata Iura, and has won Excellent Award at the International Drama Festival in Tokyo as well as several other TV awards.

Dicky Cheung has recently responded to reports that he and wife Jess Zhang have haphazardly thrown cigarette butts into a row of planter boxes containing flowers.

The whole issue sparked recently, when a netizen shared a video showing the couple smoking outdoors and then carelessly throwing their partially extinguished cigarette butts into the planter box.

Many took to social media to blast the couple, saying that a half-extinguished cigarette could easily ignite dried leaves and pose serious fire hazard.

Following the controversy, on 21 October, Dicky provided Hong Kong media with photos of himself at the said venue in the day, using the photos to illustrate that there was an ashtray on the banister in front of the rows of flowers.

According to him, the environment was too dark at the time, which led people to mistakenly believe that a cigarette butt had been thrown into the planter box.

He even jokingly used lyrics from his hit song “True or False” to clear his name, saying, “True, true… false, false… as long as you believe him.”

Li Xiaoran recently announced that she and producer husband Xu Jianing have called it quits on their marriage.

On 19 October, the 51-year-old actress confirmed the divorce via Weibo, writing, “We divorced last year, we have no connection with each other, and we will not bother each other. We wish each other well.”

The confirmation seemed to have been made as a way to distance herself from the debt disputes that Xu is embroiled in, after he and his affiliated company were revealed to owe RMB 21.11 million in debts.

Reports of a divorce sparked as early as July this year, after Li was revealed to have transferred all her shares in companies related to Xu Jianing and resigned as a director, completely severing ties in their business empire and mitigating debt risks.

It is understood that the two officially finalised their divorce in Beijing in November 2025.

The couple tied the knot in June 2014 after meeting on the set of the 2010 TV series, “Too Late to Say I Love You”.

Riria Ito recently announced that she is graduating from Nogizaka46 after more than a decade with the group.

The singer shared the news on social media on 17 October with a photo of her Nogi uniform, writing” I, Riria Ito, will be leaving Nogizaka46 with my 43rd single. I joined as a junior high school student and have been with Nogizaka46 for about 10 years.”

“It’s a bit scary to leave my favourite place, but I’ll take one step forward. Thank you all for your support until the very end!” she added.

The 43rd single, “Kimi Loss” is set to be released on 2 December. Her graduation ceremony is expected to take place sometime before the end of the year.

The singer joined the group’s third generation in September 2016. In her blog post, she said that she began wanting to experience being a fan of the group from the outside after watching one member after another leaving the group.

She also expressed her intention to continue her entertainment career, primarily on acting.

Actor and anime voice actor Hiroshi Tsuchida has recently passed away.

The news was announced by his talent agency, 81Produce on 20 October, saying that the actor breathed his last on 11 October due to heart failure.

“The funeral service was held privately with only family members present, in accordance with the wishes of the bereaved family. We express our deepest gratitude for the kindness shown to him during his lifetime and respectfully inform you of his passing,” the company added.

Born in 1972, Tsuchida had starred in various acting projects and lent his voice to animated features and series.

He was most known for voicing the character Saizo/Ninja Blue in “Ninja Sentai Kakuranger” and Grisha Jaeger in “Attack on Titan” and dubbed the Japanese versions of numerous English-language films and animations like “Tron” and “Cars”.

In addition to his anime work, the actor also voiced the characters in various video games series including “Kingdom Hearts,” “Tekken,” and “Call of Duty”.

He was 54.

Carina Lau recently revealed that she and husband Tony Leung Chiu Wai managed to have a meet-up with The Weeknd just as the Canadian singer-songwriter arrived in Hong Kong for his concert.

On 18 October, the actress-producer posted several photos of her and Tony with the singer with the backdrop of the Hong Kong skyline, and captioned it, “What a perfect weekend with The Weeknd!”

One of the photos include a menu that the singer signed for the couple, which read, “Thank you for an incredible night.”

On the other hand, The Weeknd (real name Abel Tesfaye) also shared a photo of himself talking with Tony during dinner, and chose Faye Wong’s classic song “Dream Lover” as the background music – a song associated with Tony’s film “Chungking Express” – much to the delight of fans.

It is noted that The Weeknd has previously revealed that he greatly admires Tony’s cinematic aesthetics, which are also an important source of inspiration for his creative work.

The singer will be performing at the Kai Tak Stadium as part of his “After Hours Til Dawn” concert at the end of the month.

After much speculations, Jihyo, a member of the group TWICE, revealed that she has left JYP Entertainment to start her own company.

Sharing the news on social media on 21 October, the singer thanked the agency who stood by her for so many years and helped her grow, adding that she will always cherish the time they spent together.

She then announced that she has established her own company called EMITHAUS.

“Just as the word “EMIT” means “to release” or “to radiate,” I hope to freely explore and express even the possibilities within myself that I have yet to discover. As I step away from a familiar environment and continue my work in a new way, I will approach every decision and activity ahead with greater care and a stronger sense of responsibility,” she added.

However, Jihyo stressed that the establishment of her own company does not mean that she is leaving TWICE, saying that she hopes to continue to be a part of the group.

“I will continue to fill the years ahead with choices and efforts that are true to who I am, and I will keep growing as an artiste worthy of the love and support you have given me,” she added.
