Actor Yang Joon Mo and former SPICA and UNI.T member Yang Jiwon are getting married, and they are expecting their first child together.

Yang Jiwon broke the news on Instagram on 24 August, sharing wedding shoot photos alongside a heartfelt message.

“Everyone, I’m getting married!” she wrote, admitting it “didn’t quite feel real” at first but has been sinking in gradually. The couple had originally planned to marry early next year, but moved things up after learning she was pregnant: “we are incredibly grateful to have been blessed with a new life. So next year, when I turn 40, I will become a mother.”

She described starting a family as one of her longest-held wishes, now finally coming true “with the person I love.” Of her husband-to-be, she wrote that the two are different in some ways and alike in others, adding that he has “helped me grow closer to God” and deepened her desire to build a life of faith together. She closed by asking fans for their support: “As the sweltering days of summer draw to a close, please bless our new beginning.”

Yang Joon Mo shared his own post the same day, using it to also belatedly confirm he and his ex-wife had divorced back in 2023. He explained his long silence: “The reason I chose not to speak about this was, above all, because I wanted to protect my young daughter from being hurt or subjected to unnecessary attention.” He added that their daughter “is also doing well and growing up healthy while surrounded by love,” and that he and his ex-wife continue to support one another as they build separate lives.

Of Yang Jiwon, he wrote that she “stayed by my side, gave me strength and warmth, and helped me find laughter again” as he rebuilt his life, and that the two are now “preparing to become a family.”

He asked fans to “warmly bless this new beginning for the two of us.”

Beatrice Fang recently took to social media to wish everybody a happy Qixi Festival, her first celebration as a single woman in so many years.

On 19 August, which marks the Chinese Valentine’s Day, the actress posted, “Happy Qixi Festival, everyone! May all those who are in love eventually find their happily-ever-after.”

“And if you’re single, don’t worry. Please love yourself, be brave and live happily. I looked at these photos myself and thought, ‘I want to fall in love with myself.’ So I deliberately saved them to post on Qixi,” she added.

Beatrice confirmed her divorce from ex-husband Johnny Yang (aka Yang Ming-wei) back on 17 August at the press conference of her new drama, “Goodbye 1987”.

She revealed that she and the actor had reached a consensus to “end the marriage” after 10 years, and that they are still good friends. She added that what they need to focus on most right now is their work and family, and that “marriage is not like an exam; there is no right answer.”

Frustrated by the waiting for the right project, Zhao Lusi has decided to take her career into her own hands by purchasing the rights to nine film and TV intellectual properties.

On 16 August, the actress’ studio announced the nine IPs, which are diverse in type, covering various themes such as period dramas, modern dramas, and suspense, including three original screenplays, four novel adaptations, and two established IPs co-developed/acquired by the company.

The first project reportedly will begin filming in Hengdian on 22 August, with Lusi serving as producer.

It was reported that Lusi made the decision to produce her own projects as a way to not only upgrade herself from working in front of the camera to behind the scenes, but also to avoid controversies encountered in past projects.

This way, Lusi is also able to control the content and direction of the project.

In her livestream, the actress also admitted that she decided to acquire her own project as she is someone who doesn’t like to be passive or stagnant.

The actress added that if she has to wait for a good script, or a well-developed script that she feels comfortable with, she will become very anxious.

Hong Min-gi has recently refuted claims made by an ex-girlfriend who claimed that she was forced by him to undergo an abortion.

The actor, who previously denied allegations of domestic violence by the woman, known only as Miss A, was accused yet again of forcing the other party to terminate her pregnancy, after she claimed to have found out about the pregnancy last July.

In a second statement released following the previous response, Fable Company stated that Miss A had sent an ultrasound photo to Hong accompanied by the message, “Shut up before I spill the beans.” However, the company claimed that Miss A had never shown such a photo to the actor before.

The agency also questioned the authenticity of the image, stating that it appeared different from typical ultrasound images associated with pregnancy. It said it plans to formally seek confirmation from the relevant medical staff and submit the findings as evidence in the legal proceedings. Fable Company added that, after checking with Hong Min-gi, it was confirmed that Miss A had never shown him a pregnancy test, making it impossible for him to have made any remarks intended to persuade or pressure her into having an abortion.

As for her claims that she had the abortion on 13 July, the company said that Miss A had suggested that she and Hong Min-gi go cycling together that day. After he declined, she allegedly sent him a video of herself cycling alone.

The agency continued, “Although pregnancy and abortion are extremely sensitive and serious matters, Miss A publicly posted completely false claims on social media… As a result, Hong Min-gi has once again suffered severe damage to his reputation and image.”

“We will no longer repeat the other party’s false claims. Based on the evidence we have secured, we will immediately proceed with the necessary civil and criminal legal procedures to establish the facts clearly,” it added.

Yoyo Mung is making a big screen comeback!

It was revealed that the 53-year-old actress, who hasn’t appeared on screen since “Flying Tiger 2” in 2019, has finally shot a new movie.

The film, titled “Good Trip,” stars Nick Cheung and Golden Horse winner Chung Suet Ying, and is scheduled for release in Hong Kong on 15 October.

Yoyo has not made any announcement regarding her comeback. Her return was noted after she was spotted in the teaser trailer of the movie, appearing in a period costume.

However, the movie itself is not a period movie, but a modern day film that revolves around a film art department assistant who is constantly shuttling between the film set and the hospital while caring for her cancer-stricken father.

The movie is directed by Norris Wong and Wong Hoi.

Former Nogizaka46 member Misa Eto recently announced that she has given birth to her third child with her baseball player husband, Sosuke Genda.

Sharing the good news on 18 August, the singer-turned-model posted a partial photo of her newborn son and wrote, “The other day, I gave birth to our third child, a baby boy.”

“With the whole family watching over us, a new life was born. He let out the loudest and strongest cry among his siblings and safely came into our family. With one more member in the family, our home has become even livelier.”

Misa added that she is now adjusting to life as a mother of three and cherishing the precious days of having a newborn.

“Thank you so much to everyone who has warmly watched over and supported us all this time. I sincerely appreciate your continued support,” she added.

The couple, who tied the knot in 2019, are already parents to a four-year-old son and a two-year-old daughter.

More than a year after her alleged affair, it was revealed that Mei Nagano is set to make a comeback with a new drama, “Himachi no Jouou”.

The drama is an adaptation of the manga series by Kurese Kayahara. This ensemble drama follows Ayane Ichijo, a former No. 1 hostess in Kabukicho, as she aims to manage Japan’s number one hostess club, not as a hostess, but as a staff member.

It was reported that Mei is not only starring but is also participating as a producer.

Speaking about the project, the actress said, “I read the original work and was instantly captivated by the world of the story and the charm of the characters. The more I read, the stronger my desire became to live in this world myself, and I am very happy to be able to be a part of it.”

“I want to approach this role with respect for the work and with care,” she added.

The drama is scheduled to be released this winter.

It was back in April last year that the actress was embroiled in an alleged affair with married actor Kei Tanaka.

Kelly Cheung has laughed off rumours of romance with Ron Ng, which stemmed from a cat that had supposedly appeared in both of their lives.

Speaking to the media at the wrap-up of her new drama, “The Model Lawyers,” the actress said that the cat that she has been sharing on Instagram, which she named Dongu, was a stray that she brought home with her.

“I raised him by myself. Now he lives in my house. He is my own cat. Dongu belongs to me,” she said.

When asked if the cat has anything to do with Ron Ng, who was previously pictured with a similar-looking cat in Zhuhai, Kelly kept everyone in suspense by jokingly suggesting that they should ask Ron about it.

The two stars were romantically linked to one another after working together in “This City Never Sleeps”.

South Korean heartthrob Kim Woo-bin is set to return to Singapore on 20 August.

The “Genie, Make a Wish” star, who serves as the brand’s global ambassador, will be attending the grand opening of Swiss luxury watchmaker Jaeger-LeCoultre’s flagship boutique at ION Orchard.

His last visit to Singapore was in 2017 for the premiere of his film, “Master”.

According to Kim’s agency, AM Entertainment, the opening ceremony will be held at 3.50pm at the atrium on Level 1 of ION Orchard.

Kim rose to international fame after portraying rebellious student Choi Young-do in the hit Korean drama “The Heirs,” alongside Lee Min-ho and Park Shin-hye.

More recently, he starred in the Netflix comedy series “Genie, Make A Wish,” where he reunited with actress and singer Bae Suzy, with whom he previously appeared in the drama “Uncontrollably Fond”.

Jennie’s agency has announced legal action, following a video that recently went viral online appearing to show the BLACKPINK member being exposed.

The whole issue sparked after the singer performed at the Summer Sonic 2026 Music Festival held at ZOZO Marine Stadium in Chiba, Japan on 14 August. Following her performance, footage of Jennie’s stage appearance spread across social media and online communities.

Some of the videos appeared to contain a clip in which parts of Jennie’s body seemed to be exposed while she was adjusting her wardrobe.

On 18 August, OA Entertainment released a notice of legal action, stating, “We have recently identified ongoing misconduct targeting the artist (JENNIE) across online communities and social media platforms. This includes the spread of baseless defamatory statements and false information, the malicious editing or manipulation of her photos and videos, and the posting or distribution of content that infringes upon her privacy and personal rights.”

“OA Entertainment recognises these infringements on the artist’s rights and interests as a severe matter. In cooperation with a legal counsel, we are continuously monitoring and collecting evidence regarding related posts and accounts, while actively pursuing civil and a criminal legal complaint against severe violations. In particular, firm legal action will be taken depending on the nature and severity of acts such as maliciously editing or re-processing the artist’s physical features, repetitive posting, re-posting, or distributing specific photos or video clips, or attaching insulting expressions or false information to such content.”

The company urged the public to report any similar cases they encounter in future.
