Fan Bingbing has recently opened up about the dark times she faced following her tax evasion scandal, sharing that she personally resolved hundreds of commercial endorsement disputes in the wake of the scandal.
In an interview that had since circulated online, the actress admitted that she had no time to be depressed during the first few months of the scandal, as she had to communicate and mediate with hundreds of partners that were going to be affected by it.
She added that she and her team chose to face them rather than run away.
“It was a great experience for me. At that time, I was essentially leading my own team, communicating with each advertising client to figure out how to solve the problem, whether it was delays, compensation, replacements, or substitutions,” she said.
Fan said that she and some of the brands continue to maintain good friendships because of this.

“They think I’m a very sincere person. There’s no time for you to suffer, because you immediately have to face how to solve the problem. I think sincerity is the ultimate weapon. Many things that you initially thought were very difficult and unsolvable can actually be gradually resolved,” she added.
Fan also admitted that during that period of hardship, she had thought about retiring from acting, especially after the people around her also shared the same idea.
However, it was two of her close friends, as well as her fans, who insisted that she should keep going.
Last year, the actress won Best Actress at the Golden Horse Awards and Bangkok International Film Festival for her performance in Malaysian director Chong Keat Aun’s film “Mother Bhumi”.
