Not one to pay attention to gossip and rumours, Sun Li recently revealed that she taught her daughter to do the same when it comes to rumours about the family.
The actress, who appeared on iQiyi’s talk show “The Inner Journey,” shared that she has an ostrich mentality when it comes to gossip, meaning she ignores anything negative that comes her way.
“I don’t look at them. I have almost no social media on my phone,” she said, adding that she chose not to look so that she would not have to think about it.
Sun Li said she had to teach her daughter Xiao Hua to do the same after the girl was affected by a rumour about Sun Li and Deng Chao’s marriage not long ago.
She recounted receiving a call one day from Xiao Hua’s teacher, who said the then 12-year-old was very upset at school.
After the teacher questioned her, Xiao Hua finally revealed that her classmates had seen rumours online about Sun Li and Deng Chao’s supposed divorce and had asked her about it, which made her believe it was true.
She told her daughter, “The four of us eat together now, mum and dad are home every day, and we often go on trips together,” adding that she hopes her daughter understands that what’s said online isn’t necessarily credible and that it’s better to see the facts with her own eyes than to believe others.
She said that after their long talk, her daughter became completely immune to such false rumours.
