Margaret Chung has recently addressed rumours of her suffering from ALS with a long statement on social media, following previous reports.
On 12 September, the former TVB actress released her response to the reports in in both English and Chinese, which read, “First and foremost, I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation for the tremendous concern, kindness and well wishes I have received during this arduous period of my life. The compassion shown to me, and my family has meant more than I can adequately express.”
“At this time, my focus is on my health, being with the people I love and spending meaningful time with my family as we navigate this together,” she added.

Margaret said that while she understands that people will have interest and concern regarding her health situation due to being a public figure, she is respectfully asking the media, the public and her supporters to respect her privacy and, most importantly, the privacy of her family.
“To everyone who has reached out, sent messages, offered prayers or simply kept me and my family in your thoughts: thank you. Your kindness and support have been deeply felt and are truly appreciated. For now, my priority is my health and my family,” she said, adding that she hopes people will understand her wish for privacy.
Margaret, however, made no mention as to what health issues she is facing.
It is noted that rumours of ALS (or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) sparked due to the fact that the actress’ mother fought the condition for a decade prior to her passing.
