Hong Kong singer RIIANA recently expressed her gratitude over being chosen to record one of the movie’s songs for Stephen Chow’s new movie, “Kung Fu Soccer”.
The singer-songwriter, who released the song, titled “Born to Be Wonderful” (translated title) last month, said that she was grateful even for the opportunity to write a song and submit a demo for the movie.
“At the time, I didn’t think too much about it. Now, being able to collaborate on Stephen Chow’s film is truly a dream come true! I hope this song will encourage everyone to live their own wonderful life,” she enthused.
The song, which RIIANA composed herself, blends pop rock with retro funk, its upbeat melody echoing the comedic tone of the film. The rap section conveys an unyielding, never-give-up spirit. The final section interweaves vocals and applause, vividly depicting the passionate scene of the “Emei Team” (the film’s sports team) fighting side-by-side.
The entire song perfectly continues the unique healing and inspirational core of Stephen Chow’s films; warmth hidden in laughter, passion revealed in tears, and emotional expression building layer by layer.
