Janet Hsieh recently revealed that son Egan has made more than her when it comes to acting salary despite being only 8 years old.
The actress, who attended a brand event with her son recently, shared that she had just returned from the United States where she and Egan were on a panel for “The Vale Origins”.
She revealed that Egan had started acting in film and TV two years ago, and has appeared in two movies and a stage play.
However, Janet stated that she never intended for him to be an actor. The TV personality revealed that it just so happened that she went to audition once, and the casting agency happened to be looking for child stars aged 6 to 10. She asked her son if he wanted to try, and he agreed, and was eventually cast by the director.
When asked how it feels like being a “momager,” she responded, “It’s really tiring. But I am strict with his studies. A teacher is required to be present on-site and his working hours are limited to eight hours a day.”
Janet jokingly said that she could retire if her son became a big star, and revealed that Egan’s income in the United States this year has exceeded hers, but still not surpassed her husband’s income.
