Rumours of Zhang Linghe reuniting with Lu Yuxiao in an upcoming drama seemed to have sparked backlash from his fans, who are now urging his management to get the actor to step away from the project.
The whole issue started with a rumour on Weibo claiming that the two will be working together in the new drama, “Revenge” and that Zhang has been booked to play the lead six months in advance. It is noted that Lu is also from the same agency as Zhang.
The news sparked anger among Zhang’s fans, who stated that the management agency is using the actor as leverage to prop up their other less-established artistes.
In a statement released by Zhang Linghe Global Fan Support Association, they alleged that the management team had repeatedly “acted in ways that harmed Zhang Linghe’s career interest” and that pairing the two again would cross a line for fans.
The two were previously united in 2023’s “My Journey to You”.
They also stated that fans had hoped to see Zhang being paired up with a more established actress to strengthen his value, rather than being used by the agency to promote other talents.
It is noted that the production has yet to confirm the casting of the drama.
