Ariel Lin recently opened up about her past health condition, revealing that she had undergone surgery to remove a pituitary cyst back in 2009.

In a recent interview on a Chinese talk show, the Taiwanese actress said that she had always been neglectful of her health in her younger days, having spent most of her time working to pay off her family’s debt.

However, things took a different turn when she was diagnosed with a pituitary cyst in the sella turcica, approximately 2 centimetres in size.

Ariel revealed that she had to stop working immediately to undergo endoscopic surgery through the nasal cavity to remove the cyst, and that she could taste blood in her mouth following the operation.

“When I was recovering, my mouth was full of the taste of blood, and I realised that I was actually very close to death. Then suddenly, my life flashed by, and my emotions became fragile,” she posted.

The actress said that the condition made her pause and reflect about her life. She gradually slowed down her work, and made more time for her family and her own happiness.
