Julia Peng’s camp has recently dismissed rumours of mistreatment of the singer’s former manager, Su Ying-tien.
On 25 February, a tabloid magazine reported that Julia and Su had parted their 12-year collaboration in a sour manner. It claimed that Julia distanced herself and terminated their working relationship after Su was diagnosed with early-stage cancer.
It was also reported that Su confided in a friend that she had expressed her desire to continue working seeing that her condition was not dire, but that Julia retorted, “Why earn so much money if you don’t have children?”
Reportedly, that statement became the final straw that broke their friendship of over 10 years. Su Ying-tien herself even posted a self-deprecating message on her private social media, lamenting that she had managed a “heartless” artiste.
In response to the rumour, Julia’s current manager Tso Kuang-ping stated that the rumours distorted the fact in such a way that saddened them.
“We hope that there won’t be any more malicious attempts to sow discord and make things more complicated. We are always grateful to and respectful of Ms. Tien. It’s deeply regrettable that things have turned out this way. Thank you everyone for your concern.”
