Netizens were surprised to find out it was not Louis Koo or Raymond Lam who has the highest pay for the new movie, “Back to the Past,” but Chinese actress Bai Baihe.
Recently, a list of the actors’ salaries for the film was leaked online in China, showing that Louis, as the lead and producer, did not receive a fixed salary and instead to take a profit or incur a loss from the box office revenue.
It was also revealed that Raymond is the highest paid actor in the movie, earning HKD 2 million for his role as Ying Ching.

However, Bai Baihe was revealed to make as high as RMB 15 million (approx. HKD 16.8 million), which is way more than the likes of the lead actors and fellow actresses Jessica Hsuan and Sonija Kwok, who were paid HKD 1.5 million each instead.
It was reported that the high remuneration was due to Bai Baihe’s ability to guarantee box office successes, as she had starred in many films that made a big success at the box office, including “Monster Hunt,” “I Belonged to You,” and “Chongqing Hot Pot”.
It is noted that Bai is not playing a big role in the movie. She plays Gaile, the only daughter of Michael Miu’s character Ken.
