Kim Taeyeon has recently renewed her contract with SM Entertainment after 18 years with the company.
Announcing the continued collaboration for the 19th year on 9 January, SM Entertainment stated, “We are happy to continue with our cherished artiste Taeyeon, based on the deep sense of trust we have built over the years. We will keep on supporting Taeyeon so that she may shine ever more as a global artiste.”
Taeyeon made her music debut as the leader of Girls’ Generation back in August 2007.
Known for her powerful vocals, the singer then released her first solo project, “I” in 2015 and went on to become one of the best-selling solo artistes in South Korea.
She is also a part of other SM Entertainment projects, including the trio TTS, SM the Ballad and the supergroup Got the Beat, featuring the collaboration with BoA, her fellow Girls’ Generation member Hyoyeon, Seulgi and Wendy from Red Velvet, and Karina and Winter from Aespa.
