Son Ye-jin recently admitted that being a mother has made her performance more natural when it comes to her role in the new Park Chan-wook movie, “No Other Choice”.
The actress, who chooses the project as her comeback project following the birth of her first child, said that she immediately said yes to the offer, seeing that it would mean working with Lee Byung-hun and being directed by Park.
“If I hadn’t taken the role, I’d probably regret it,” she said.
As for playing a mother after becoming a mother herself, Son stated, “Although I’ve played mothers before, after actually raising a child, filming with kids feels more real and natural. Especially since this film emphasises the importance of maternal love, I felt even more invested in the performance.”
Son, who tied the knot with Hyun Bin in 2022 after working together in the TV series “Crash Landing On You”, welcomed her first son in June the same year.
Aside from “No Other Choice”, the actress is also set to return to the small screen through the upcoming drama, “Scandals”.
