Ariel Lin recently made her debut as a producer through the new movie, “Blind Love”.
The Taiwanese actress, who also stars in the movie alongside Wu Ke-xi, stated that the film is based on the short story of the same title by writer Liu Zi-jie.
Ariel said that although the original story was just a few pages long, it deeply resonated with her.
“Sometimes, even when our eyes can see, our hearts remain numb, blind, or purposely shut off. Paradoxically, when we close our eyes, our mind may become even clearer, allowing us to truly perceive what matters most,” she said.
She said that she and director Julian Chou liked the concept very much and went on to expand the short story into a richer film.
The film has already been shortlisted for the Rotterdam International Film Festival, Osaka Asian Film Festival, Las Palmas International Film Festival in Spain, among others.
Most notably, it was awarded Best Feature Film at the Johannesburg Film Festival in South Africa.
