Leo Wu (aka Wu Lei) recently revealed that he had food poisoning while filming his movie, “Dwelling by the West Lake” last year.

Speaking to the media at the promotional event of the movie recently, Leo stated that the incident happened after he learned about Guizhou’s special delicacy of green-shelled eggs, which is believed to have miraculous effects on nourishing the body.

As a result, he said, he ended up vomiting and suffering from diarrhoea after consuming them.

“The most difficult thing in the world is having diarrhoea while you’re in the mountains,” he said, referring to the location where he was filming at the time.

After receiving medical treatment, he was told by the doctor that he had food poisoning.

Leo then joked that the food poisoning actually helped him get into character for the film.
