Japanese singer Kiro Akiyama recently announced that he will not be performing at live shows for the time being.

The singer, famous for the popular anime, “My Hero Academia”, broke his silence on his official website on 9 December, not long after his previous assault case.

The post read, “I am truly sorry for the trouble and concern this incident has caused you. I have decided to withdraw from three live performances held at the end of the year – “MERRY ROCK PARADE 2022”, “FM802 ROCK FESTIVAL RADIO CRAZY 2022” and “COUNTDOWN JAPAN 22/23”, because I am not ready physically and mentally.”

Kiro also apologised to those who have bought tickets to see him, saying that he will use this time to reflect on himself and make a change before returning to his fans.

“I haven’t said much in the past, but thank you all for your continued support. I’m so sorry. I can barely express how I feel right now,” he added.

The singer was arrested back on 23 November for allegedly beating his girlfriend. On 3 December, his company announced that Kiro has been released from custody and may not be indicted.
