Yoo Ah-In has recently denied allegations that he was the reason for the crowd rush in the Itaewon district of Seoul that killed more than 150 people.

According to South Korean news outlets, there were allegations that several famous celebrities and influencers had appeared in Itaewon on the day of the tragedy, which triggered the crowds to rush to the scenes and causing the stampede.

In response to the allegation, Yoo’s camp UAA released a statement saying that the actor was not in the country at all at the time.

“Yoo Ah-In left South Korea on 29 October and is still abroad at this time. He has nothing to do with the tragedy that occurred in Itaewon,” the company added.

The death toll has now reached 156, according to Seoul police, after another victim died while in hospital.
