Anson Lo recently became the first MIRROR member to return to the stage, three months after the tragic incident at the group’s Hong Kong concert.
On 14 November, the singer performed alongside Joyce Cheng, changing into several different looks and showing his dance moves to fans’ delight, despite suffering from stomach cramps throughout the night.
Speaking to the media after the show, Joyce stated that she is happy to work with Anson and would love to do it again.
Asked if Anson had felt burdened to do well, being the first member of the group to return to the stage after the previous tragedy, she responded, “He is doing okay and very professional.”
Meanwhile, the singer took to social media to express his thoughts about the comeback, writing, “Left the stage for nearly three months… for me, it was necessary to adjust my psyche before the performance. It may be because of the unfamiliarity, it may be because of pressure, it may be because of fear.”
Anson also revealed that his whole body was shaking the first time he came on the stage for the rehearsal, and that it was his manager who calmed him down by telling him that only he can help himself.
It was back in late July that MIRROR had to cancel eight of their 12 planned Hong Kong Coliseum concerts after a large overhead video screen hanging on top of the stage fell and injured several dancers, including backup dancer Mo, who ended up with serious damage to his nerves.
Members of the group had since been on hiatus, and only released their first single since the incident back in October.
