Another Halloween, another celebrity made a costume blunder, and this year it’s Martin del Rosario, who decided that it was a good idea to dress up as real-life serial killer, Jeffrey Dahmer.
The actor, who chose to channel Evan Peter’s Dahmer from the highly controversial Ryan Murphy Netflix series of the same name, found himself blasted on social media for doing so, with many saying that serial killers are not a costume the way similar movie characters like Michael Myers or Freddy Kreuger are.
In response to the backlash, Martin took to Instagram Story and wrote, “I sincerely apologised if I offended some of you with my Halloween costume. I did not [intend] to create buzz for my personal gain nor exude that attitude of indifference towards the victims of the character I wore.”
Martin added that his intention was simply to celebrate Halloween in a simple costume during an intimate party with family.
“If I have hurt anybody or become insensitive, I sincerely apologise. Please trust that it was nothing intentional,” he added.
