Aaron Kwok was among the many artistes who recently expressed sadness over the incident that befallen the dancers at the recent MIRROR concert.
On 29 July, following news that several dancers were injured with one admitted to the ICU after a giant video screen fell down during a performance, the Cantopop King posted a black square on social media to show his solidarity.
“I am deeply saddened and shocked by this serious stage accident in the show world. At the moment, everyone is trying their best to use positive thinking to gather energy and pray for the two injured dancers, and hope they will recover soon!” he wrote.
“At the same time,” he added, “I hope that the industry will seriously face up to all the safety of stage performers! Human life is more important than everything! I wish you peace!”
Speaking to the media about the incident during the press conference of the Hong Kong International Film Festival (HKIFF) recently, Aaron said that he would usually familiarise himself with the stage before every performance. However, at the same time, the singer stressed that performers should not have to worry about the other parts, other than the performance itself.
“The organisers should be the clearest about this. Internal review should be carried out continuously… It is unreasonable to go to the performers to solve them. When they were rehearsing, they had to be all set,” he said.
