Barbie Hsu recently revealed that she and Koo Jun-Yup have no plans to hold a wedding ceremony to celebrate their union.
In an exclusive interview with Apple Daily, the actress, who surprised many by announcing her marriage with the South Korean performer, stated that her family and children are both moved upon hearing the news of their marriage.
“I will not have any more weddings and I have no plans to have more children,” she added.
As to why they decided to tie the knot, Barbie said that Koo was unable to come to Taiwan due to the pandemic, and that the only way for him to do so was by marrying her.
“I met him when I was in my early 20s. Although it didn’t work out, it was a very important relationship for me. Now that we meet again, he and I cherish it very much. Now that a war is going on, we cherish this fate even more,” she said.
Barbie also added that Koo contacted her after finding out that she was divorced and immediately asked her to marry him.
“I am very grateful to be able to pursue happiness,” she said.
In a previous report, it was revealed that Koo and Barbie met each other at Tarcy Su’s concert in 1998 and began dating shortly afterwards. The long-distance relationship continued on until they had to break up due to Koo’s popularity, with the rapper saying that his management agency was against its stars dating at the time.
