Sandra Ng has recently won the Best Actress award at this year’s Chinese American Film Festival.
As reported on Mingpao, the actress won the said accolade for her performance in the movie, “Zero to Hero”, where she plays the role of Paralympic gold medalist So Wa Wai’s mother.
Speaking about the award, Sandra said that she is happy that not only that the movie was positively received by the audience, but that it had enabled her to win an award as well.
“I am thankful to receive this award while the movie is still in theatres. Thank you, Chinese American Film Festival, thank you to all the voters,” she enthused.
Sandra also thanked director Wan Chi Man, stating that the said filmmaker persisted in making the movie about the relationship between So and his mother.
“Regrettably, the film wasn’t released in U.S. cinemas. I also didn’t get the chance to fly over to thank you. But not to worry, the film is already on Netflix. North American viewers would be able to see it,” she added.
It is noted that the movie has been chosen to represent Hong Kong in the Best International Feature Film category at the 94th Academy Awards.
