Taiwanese TV personality Mickey Huang surprised many recently by admitting that he is now taking slow steps to retiring from showbiz.

As reported on Epoch Times, the famed host, who appeared at a charity event recently, stated that he is currently on the lookout for his successor in the industry and is expecting to fade out of showbiz at the age of 60.

“I will be 50 next year, and I will be starting my ten-year succession plan. In these ten years, I will find my successors in art, design, hosting and music,” he said.

When asked about what led to his decision to retire, Mickey stated that ever since he had to stay home for three months during the previous lockdown, he has seen many talented new faces in the business, and believes that they will be able to replace him soon.

Some of these hosts, said Mickey, include Huang Hao-ping, Chen Ming-chu, and Lulu Huang.

“I want to take my wife to travel around the mountains and rivers in my 60s. I owe her a lot,” he said, referring to the fact that he and wife Summer Meng had to sacrifice their wedding due to the pandemic and that he has been too busy working since then.

“My schedule is full throughout October and she can only stay home and watch “Squid Game”,” he added.
